Directions to add an alternate code to your keyless entry system are explained in detail starting on page 166 of this digital owners manual:

http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WO5231/~MUS~LEN/34/05231og3e.pdf

note:
The above link is to download your complete owners manual.
It is a free download courtesy of Fords website & it is in pdf format so it can easily be saved to your computer for future reference.
I hope this helps.

you can't change the original code, only add a personal one to it..

Enter the permanent code, within 5 sec. press 1/2,
within 5 sec, enter your new 5 digit personal code

Now it will open with either code.
Don't enter something like 12345 or 11111 it makes it to easy for thieves

Additional note you might want to know the code you set could get erased if the power is ever disconnected.

The answer to that question should be in manufacturers manual that came with the car when you bought it.
If you do not have the manual ,go to the manufactures web site and you can order one.
Or you can ask the serv. rep at the dealer you get your service done.
