I had a macbook, and my husband gave me his macbook pro. Ever since i have been using his computer, which has a much larger moniter, and it seems brighter as well, my eyes have had red veins in the corners (near my nose) of the white area. Its very ugly up close. I also have dry air suddenly due to drop in temps, and am using heat more. I sit near the heat return while i work on the computer, also. I wonder if its the new computer screen? Or the dry air? or both?

I am experiencing some itchyness with my eyes. and when i wake in the morning they are kind of crusty (tmi, i know).

any help is appreciated.

It seems like it is the screen, it may be bigger, but it doesn't mean the brightness is less, or the quality is better, if it is bright or you are straining to see, then your eyes will be damaged, try turning the brightness down

very typical problem...you aren't hydrating your eyes because you dont blink enough. Stop every hour, take a break, close your eyes and rest them, you might also want to use a hydrating eye drop.
