"This issue must be settled before long."

Uh, we've been around since 1830. You're a little behind the times.

What should be done?....
Oh, you could try what Gov. Liburn Boggs of Missouri did- make it legal to kill them. We're still around, and his law has been repealed.

You could try what the illegal mobs did- paint their faces and burn our homes, rob us, rape our women, kill our men, and in general be a total pain in the a--. We're still around, but where are the mobs?

You could try what the nation's captial did- Ignore every (there were over 100) petition for justice, and tell us that we just need to be nice. We were nice, but we still had to leave the nation (At the time, the US only reached to the Mississippi). Oh,did I mention we're still around?

*hug* Have a great day!

PS- thanks, Jimi4950- I appreciate your respect *hug for you, too*

Edit- Odd Duck- you forgot to mention that 13 million is the number of LIVING people on record- No, we don't count the dead, like some churches ;)

LOL!!!!!! ROFL!!!!!!! Oh man.. people on here really are ignorant to our beliefs!!! It's too funny! I'm sorry, but you people really are funny.

How about this: The 13,000,000 members of the church (yes, that's how many members there were as of October) will round up each and every person of other faiths, starting with the smallest, and indoctrinate them all, including you. Then you can just sit back, take it all in, and there won't be a problem.

I really do pray that Christ enters your heart and you can learn to be tolerant of others, and maybe a little less bigoted. OH.. and some education would be nice too.

Respect brings respect. Think about it.

*EDIT*
Forgot to mention that 13 million members are living members on record. And yes, if you leave the church your name gets removed from the records.

When Mormons visit my home, I tell them I'm Jewish and invite them in. I explain to them that each week, Jews around the world study the same part of the Torah and ask if they would like to read the portion with me. The invariably do and are very interested.

I find Mormons to be very good people. To me, the truth of a person's faith, regardless of which one it is, is how it transforms their lives. They seem to have a true faith for them.

Educate all the non-Mormons on R&S who have some crazy misunderstandings about what Mormons believe? (As evidenced from the many hilariously uninformed responses to your question here today)

Either that or start issuing them apologies for the horrendous way they've been treated in the past and present by those who profess to believe in "freedom of religion"?

Just a couple of ideas... :-)

Leave them alone!!! Let them worship who, what and how they want. We know that it is a parody of Christianity but then so are so many other sects.

The only problem with Mormons is that incessant "won't take no for an answer" door knocking.

Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion therefore they are inflicting religious persecution on others and it is time for government and law enforcement to start persecuting them for a criminal offence!!!!

WOW! Some of you guys are really confused about Mormons.

We believe in Jesus. Yep the same one that dies on the cross for my sins. The same one that I pray in His holy name at the end of all my prayers.

To the gal that talked about internally collapsing...LOL!! We are the FASTEST growing Christian church in the US. We have missionaries doing humanitarian and proselyting in over 125 countries. That is about 55,000 in the field 24/7.

Who cares what we are doing. What are you doing to make the world happier, and have more love towards your fellow man?!

I don't see the necessity to "do" anything about Mormons.

The few I've met seem to be peaceable people with their own unique set of beliefs. While I don't agree with their ideas, I do agree with their right to hold to them.

Cut them up, boil them in oil and put them in a green jello salad. With grated carrots and pineapple.

Seriously, what in the world do you THINK should be done? What is your problem with us?

Oh, hi there Governor Boggs. It's nice that you're joining us from Missouri.

How about coexist? Would that be okay?

No? Okay, so the next hurricane / tornado / blizzard / 9-11 bombing / tsunami / massive prairie fire / whatever that you experience, please feel free NOT to accept our help / food / provisions / whatever. You won't need it where you live, under that rock.

We should love Mormons and everyone else of any religion, as brothers and sisters.
