Unmarried homosexual and heterosexual people stand right next to married people in Church.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2357-2359: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art6.htm#2357

With love in Christ.

Homosexuals can repent of their sin, like the rest of us former sinners did and join up. There is no place in any true church of God for any unrepentant sinners including unrepentant homosexuals. The Episcopal Church in the USA has embraced homosexuality and they are an apostate church now. Don't get me wrong here many Episcopalians do not subscribe to this apostasy and have broken away from the apostate church body. So Homosexuals, quit your sin and you will fit in quite nicely!!!

they fit with the crowd that needs Christ...which happens to be everyone. All gays are welcome at church it's just as Christians we don't like what they are doing. We believe that it should be one man and one woman. But i thnk they fit into evangelical, people that need to accept Christ as their Savior.

A person who participates in homosexual activity is a sinner. Just like all people. Sinners have NO place in the Church. IN order to have a place in the Church a sinner must, believe, repent, confess, and be baptized. Then the sinner is transformed by the grace of God and the blood of Jesus into a SAINT and is a member of Christ's body, the church, the family of God.

***UPDATE***
Some people answered your question as if you are talking about a Church building. I am referring to the Church as in Christ's body.

They fit in with the other people attending church who need to get saved. Homosexuality is a sin, and once a person gets saved Jesus would deliver them from that sin. You can't be a practicing homosexual and be born again, not unless you are a brand spanking new believer and haven't quite changed yet. It don't work that way. Sorry if this offends people but, I have to go with what the Bible says on this issue even if it is offensive.

as long as they were not adamant about practicing homosexual acts---they would fit in the Roman Catholic Church like any other person.

While the Catholic church denounces homosexuality, they would prefer you be gay and go to church than be gay and not go to church.

Everyone is a sinner, so it should be no big deal for a church to accept all sinners into their congregation.

Judging by some of the answers here from the religious merchants, I'd be very much surprised if ANY gay person would ever want to mix with such individuals at all, least of all in church ! ! !

'Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexuals nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.' 1 Co 6:9-11
