SPIRIT brothers whose characters and purposes are so utterly opposed

On first hearing, the doctrine that Lucifer and our Lord, Jesus Christ, are brothers may seem surprising to some—especially to those unacquainted with latter-day revelations. But both the scriptures and the prophets affirm that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are indeed offspring of our Heavenly Father and, therefore, spirit brothers. Jesus Christ was with the Father from the beginning. Lucifer, too, was an angel “who was in authority in the presence of God,” a “son of the morning.” (See Isa. 14:12; ) Both Jesus and Lucifer were strong leaders with great knowledge and influence. But as the Firstborn of the Father, Jesus was Lucifer’s older brother. (See Col. 1:15; )

Oddly enough meatbot - we think you are our brother too......go figure.

I'm pretty sure that all Christians would agree that Satan is a fallen angel. That he once lived in God's presence and was banished because of pride.

After that, we tend to split ways because LDS believe that angels are not a different type of being than humans, but rather in a different state, like catepillars and butterflies. We were all "angels" before we were born, Jesus, Satan, you, me, and Bob next door. We were all spiritual children of God. When Satan, then called Lucifer, wanted to be the Savior he wanted all the glory. Jesus, the first-born of all God's spriitual children, wanted to give all the glory to God. Satan was able to convince 1/3 of all God's spirit children to follow him. These were cast out of God's presence and now tempt those of us on earth.

Edit: Thank you for changing your avatar.

God is God. He spiritually created us in the pre-mortal life. We all lived in the spiritual pre-mortal life prior to coming to this earth. Jesus Christ was there, as was Lucifer (Satan). Accordingly, Jesus, all who were born to the earth, and Satan were the spiritual offspring of God. So, in a way that makes not only Jesus and Satan brothers it also makes us brothers with the both of them.
Satan rebelled in the pre-mortal world, and was cast out, becomign the devil.

There are numerous scriptures that attest to this.
See Hebrews 12:9, Romans 8:16, Revelations 12:7-11

Everyone has already said that we believe we are all Father's children. He created our spirits, including Christ and Lucifer (satan). That would make them spirit brothers, two of God's creations. We don't mean physical brothers. Lucifer never got a body, and never will, and that is why he is so mad.

Oh.. by the way, your avatar is very offensive. I wanted to let you know that did report it as such. So it isn't a big surprise to you.

The first misconception about this is the use of the term "created". Most people construe that to be something from nothing with a beginning. We have always existed. Before we had our physical bodies we had our spiritual bodies. Before that we were intelligences. There of course is much more in depth detail about all this, but it's really not important. Why am I trying to convince you anyway.

We are all sons and daughters of God. Jesus is our elder brother, and Satan is our brother as well, which also makes him Jesus' brother. And I agree, stop going to hate sites, especially when you already know what is on there are lies or distortions of the truth.

We believe that we are all God's children. Therefore we are all brothers and sisters. It's not like we only believe that Lucifer and Jesus were only 2 in 'their' family. Don't you believe that Jesus is your brother? I do.

AND...if you want truth about Mormons, WHY are you going to hate websites?! Good grief. Everyone knows hate websites are full of lies. Go to a LDS website. Don't be gullible and believe all the junk you read.

It's rather simple really. One, we are all children of our Heavenly Father. You, me, Jesus, Satan, etc. If we are all children of the same parent, that would make us brother and sister. Therefore, since Jesus is a child of Heavenly Father, and Satan (or Lucifer) is a child of Heavenly Father, that would make them brothers; and brothers to you and me, as well.
