if it's wax, get a small amount of olive oil and heat it up for 30 secs in the microwave and wait for it to cool a little. When it is warm enough to penetrate through the wax but is not going to scald you. put a few drops into your ear with a pippette or something similar and lay on the opposite ear for a minute or 2. Place some cotton wool lightly in your ear to stop it leaking down your neck when you sit back up!

You will hear the wax being penetrated and you will feel a small pop (perhaps not the first time you do this, you may need to try it before going to bed as well as when you get up).

Sit up after about 2 mins and you will feel your ear drain a little and will feel more clear. Just repeat it a couple of times and your hearing will return to normal!

Works a treat, honest! and because its a natural remedy, it doesn't harm your ears at all!

Both of my ears have been chronically blocked for about 2 years now!! GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! First of all, get some of that stuff from the pharmacy that softens ear wax... then get one of those giant synringe type things to flush your ear out with water...

THEN if your ear is still blocked... go to the doc!!! You could have sinus issues, or an infection etc.

Here's what my Mom always had me do (Mom has very sensitive ears): Lay on your left side. Put 2 or 3 drops of mineral oil in your right ear and let them soak into the blockage for 3 or 4 minutes. It helps to do this when commercials come on the TV. When the commercials are over, lay on your right side and put your head on a folded bath towel to drain. It tickles to feel the drips, but it worked every time. If this doesn't work, the blockage may need a doctor to remove it (so as not to damage your hearing).

If you have allergies it could possibly be the drainage. My allergy doc recommended over-the-counter mineral oil to release and breakdown the wax/drainage in the ear. Oddly enough, he said that Q-tips just complicated the problem because they forced the blockage deeper into the ear.

To clear stopped - up ears, put a few drops of lukewarm olive oil in the infected ear. Lie for 5 minutes on your side -the opposite of which the oil is in.

The rinse with warm water.

If this doesn't work go to your doctor.

I HAVE THIS PROBLEM REGULARLY...FINALLY WENT TO AN ENT DR. WHO SUCKED A BUNCH OF WAX OUT...HE TOLD ME TO NEVER TRY TO DIG IT OUT AS YOU GENERALLY PACK IT IN TIGHTER.

HIS RECOMMENDATION WAS TO PUT A FEW DROPS OF MINERAL OIL IN THE EAR AND PLACE A SMALL COTTON BALL AT THE OPENING TO KEEP IT THERE, THEN SLEEP ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. IT WILL SOFTEN THE WAX AND ALLOW IT TO DRAIN NATURALLY.

IT WORKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE I HAVE TRIED.

My daughter has that problem. What we do is take a syringe full of peroxide and warm water and gently squirt it into her ear. It helps the wax blockage to run out.
