And if there is, how then did the current Jewish government of Israel form? it wasnt on the hands of a messiah.

Note: I have nothing against Jews. This is a valid question because if the concept of a messiah involved Jews who would be saved persecution and have their own land. They already do have their own land and government and army. How did all this come around with a messiah?

Jesus Christ did not give Jews a seperate country nor a promised land. According to Jewish scripture Jesus didnt even come close to being a messiah.

You said: "According to Jewish scripture Jesus didnt even come close to being a messiah." I ask: "To which particualr Jewish Scriptures do you refer?"

I have read that there are over 300 prophecies in the Jewish Scriptures (Old Testament) that could only have been fulfilled in Jesus.

Below is a list of prophecies about the Messiah from the OT, and their fulfillment in the Christian Scriptures. On the left is the Prophecy; in the center is the Scripture where the prophecy is found; and on the right is the Scripture where it was fulfilled:

Born of the tribe of Judah Genesis 49:10 Luke 3:23-33
Born of a virgin Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:18-25
Descended from King David Isaiah 9:7 Matthew 1:1, 6-17
Declared by Jehovah to be his Son Psalm 2:7 Matthew 3:17
Not believed in Isaiah 53:1 John 12:37, 38
Entered Jerusalem riding a donkey Zechariah 9:9 Matthew 21:1-9
Betrayed by a close associate Psalm 41:9 John 13:18, 21-30
Betrayed for 30 silver pieces Zechariah 11:12 Matthew 26:14-16
Silent before his accusers Isaiah 53:7 Matthew 27:11-14
Lots cast for his garments Psalm 22:18 Matthew 27:35
Reviled while on the stake Psalm 22:7, 8 Matthew 27:39-43
None of his bones broken Psalm 34:20 John 19:33, 36
Buried with the rich Isaiah 53:9 Matthew 27:57-60
Raised before corruption Psalm 16:10 Acts 2:24, 27
Exalted to God’s right hand Psalm 110:1 Acts 7:56

There is no where in the Tanakh or Mishna that says the Messiah won't come if Israel exist. Remember Jews were kicked out of Israel a few times only to return.

There was nothing wrong with Jews moving back to Israel, the issue was should Jews lead the government of that land or not. Some Orthodox felt it was wrong until the Messiah comes, others felt it was fine and even fit into prophesy. Most Orthodox Jews are Religious Zionists

The concept of a Messiah is a Jewish concept found throughout the Jewish Scriptures.

As for the modern state of Israel....while Judaism is the 'state religion', the government is secular, in the extreme, often enacting anti-religious laws which cause great division amongst the country's Jewish population.

The answer is that the current state of Israel is not the re-establishment of the Kingdom of Israel promised with the advent of Messiah. The State of Israel, some believe, may be a precursor to Messiah as it has provided an avenue for the ingathering of exiles, one of the messianic prophesies....and the rate of ingathering has been increasing over the past several years.

There are many Jewish people out there who believe Jewish people should not have the state of Israel yet because the Messiah has not come yet. I disagree, but hey, everyone has their own opinions.

A nation simply taking the name of "Israel" does not make it the Promised Land of the Bible, just as Christ's follower's calling hm the Messiah does not make him the Messiah. Either the prophesy has been fulfilled, or it hasn't. And it clearly, inarguably, has not been fulfilled fo either.

Yes.....

The Torah pointed to Christ.....and He came.......and they missed it.

But there are some Messianic Jews out there......praise God.

The reason for all of the turmoil out there is the same as it was 5000 years ago.

The pattern goes as follows:
The Israelites sinned........God punished them with outside oppression.
The Israelites repented......God rewarded them

Modern-day Jews still refuse to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.....to their own demise unfortunately
