Kid what you need to do is not look at this on a surface level but much deeper and see the small print and the real reasons behind things and the reality not the propaganda say from pro life saying how wonderful adoption is and how much kids are wanted.

the reality is they are not... we have childrens homes full of kids often abused unloved to end up on the streets. Thats reality

Parenting should ONLY be done when parents are truelly ready for the kid and want it... usually this is in late 20s and beyond.

Adoption is really for those whos parents have died. Or truelly cant cope.

There is an alternative where the kid is adopted but the parents remain involved sort of like aunt or cousin.

Look at religious attitudes to contraception... unless useless methods.

Look at attitudes to sex amongst single people as generally with contraception whilst in a marriage often forming families and making babies.

I don't know what the school project assignment really is. However, in real life the best thing to do is to not have unprotected sex unless you are ready and want to have a baby and then parenting the baby is by far the most wonderful experience there is! Giving a baby up for adoption is a very difficult thing to do. Having an abortion can be traumatic and difficult. There is no right or wrong answer and it so much depends on the individual person and the circumstances. Being able to parent a child is certainly the best alternative if it is possible. Chances are that if the woman needs to decide between parenting and abortion and adoption -- she should not have been having sex in the first place and she should certainly have been using protection if she were. I am not preaching abstainance, but just sense.

In the perfect world, there would be no abortion or adoption. All parents would have the mentality, ability, and the resources to be good, loving parents, able to provide food, healthcare, and opportunity to their children. In short, a "Parent", and all that that world implies, is always better.

However, we live in the real world.

- Some people (mothers and fathers) have no business being parents. They are neglectful and abusive. And, no amount of counseling and 'parenting classes' will change that. In such cases, adoption is always better if there is any chance for these children to rise out of the cycle of abuse.

- Some mothers just feel that abortion is the best for them. They feel that they cannot have the child (for many reasons) and cannot carrying the child to term (also for many reasons). As sad as that is, it is their choice. Abortion should be rare, safe, and legal.

- Some mothers feel they cannot abort, that is also their choice. They decide they cannot raise the child and so give it up to a family who has the resources to raise the child. Clearly, it would be better if everyone who wants a child could have one, and if everyone who has a child is able to keep them. (Certainly, there are some less savory aspects to private adoptions, but I firmly believe that adoption is generally a good thing.)

What we should be doing is educating our children on responsible sex education. All of the research on the "Abstinence Only" sex education shows that it does nothing to reduce teen and unwanted pregnancies. And, in fact, has increased STDs because kids are being discouraged from using condoms and other protections.
