I've been on Lamictal for over 2 years now and it is really helping me. I find that if I don't space out my doses at pretty much 12 hour intervals, I get double vision.

I have been on it for 2 years. I first tried to start taking it about 3 years ago, but the first 3 days that I was on it I experienced really bad vertigo. I emailed the psychiatrist who told me that it was a side effect and to stop taking it. I decided to try it again and had no vertigo, although I had an increase in anxiety and energy that didn't feel good. It took a few weeks to slowly increase my dose enough to get to a therapeutic level. I did notice that it kept me up at night so I took a bigger dose in the morning and a lower one at night. I now take 200mg both morning and night and my body seems to have adjusted to it fine and it works really well for me. One side effect that can occur is a rash that can be deadly, notify your doctor immediately if you notice any rash.

I just started taking it after a year on Cymbalta, which had some irritating side effects for me. But the Lamactil is working fine. I actually really like it.
Have you gone to webmd.com to see what the side effects are and which are serious enough to call a doctor? You don't mention which ones you are having. But all new meds have side effects.
Last but not least, call your doctor to report the side effects and see what he says.

the original side effects i had were an increase in anxiety. i would start to hyperventilate. as for other side effects, i didn't notice any. the cymbalta i recently started is making me soooo thirsty. feel like i have to keep drinking constantly. between the two meds i think my anxiety is starting to come back down though.
