The simple answer is because Yeshua wasn't Moshiach. And the world would not have ended, it would have changed. All the fanciful tales of the Greek testaments cannot change the fact that the Hebrew prophecies were not met.

Jesus came the first as the suffering servant, to offer himself up as the sacrificial lamb to pay the price for sin for everyone forever. He did not come to condemn the world but that it could be saved.(John 3:16,17) He is coming back again to save us from destroying ourselves. Worldwide rebellion against God and His annointed one(Jesus) is taking place. Read Psalms chapter 2 and Daniel and Revelation. The word 'world' in the greek actually means age. It is not the end ofthe world but the end of the age. Jesus will usher in a new age. That is exciting because there are always unexpected changes that occur when a new age begins. You don't want to be on the wrong side when it does. Ask Jesus to change your life now. Don't wait. "Now is the day of salvation"

Jesus Christ is not going to return, as we knew him. There is not going to be any guy coming forward saying to the media, "hi I'm Jesus and I'm back." Jesus Christ had said: "he who says he is me is not me." That means the only people that would say they are him are charlatans.
So don't expect to see a public Jesus Christ.
Secondly, the mission of the Second Advent, as stated in the Bible, is to conquer Satan and the forces of the dark side. That happens in another dimension. Therefore, you will not be aware of that, publically, either.
The only way to be aware of these things is to be taken up in the spirit...raptured. In other words, you will be allowed to have a glimpse into the other dimension.
There is no end of the word. Only the end of the world as we know it, inter-dimensionally speaking. "So that the prince of this world may be overthrown." -- Jesus Christ.

It's not meant for us to know all the answers. Jesus was sent as a second chance for people to see the way, and being the humans that we are, we messed it up. So, now, we have to wait for the second coming.

All the Prophets will return, in the last 1000 years of Christ reign here on earth, Satan will be bound.

Joseph Smith was the first Prophet in this last dispensation of time.

He is not our god, but the one with those messenger's we so dearly need, to chart our way back home.

Because the first time he came, he died! Now he lives in heaven with God and his spirit lives in us, or at least those who accept him and follow him. He wants those to beleive and follow him to get more people to follow him, so they dont have to suffer in hell.
so we, the church needs to get to work because he is comming back soon, to take his followers to heaven and he is going to create a new heaven and earth for those followers.

Because he knew you were coming and wanted to give you the chance to meet and live with him. He knew you by name when he was here the first time.

Jesus came the first time as a man of sorrows, a suffering servant who laid down his life to save believers from their sins. Now God is calling all people to repent and believe on his Son before Christ the Lord returns as a conquering King to establish his rule here on earth.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

2 Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. 11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Revelation 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
