Some closet atheists.
In the US, 10%+/- are atheists. Of the existing congress, senate and presidency (537 people) only 1 is an admitted atheist. Statistically there should be 53, but they know that it would be a career killer, so they pretend.

They are all closet atheists. Very few honest, sincere, pure believers could stomach a life in politics!

And even those handful who may be honest - don't have the humility required to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

It takes a pretty large ego to run for President of the United States!

But I am all over the board in my politics - not trusting any candidate or political party all of the time - holding my nose and crossing my fingers voting for Bush in 2004, now regretting that vote with every fiber of my being; committed to supporting Hillary Clinton in 2008 mostly for her position on health care - I'm sure I will wind up regretting that vote too.

That's America!

WELLLLLL NOW THAT IS AN INTERESTING QUESTION HERE! are we to judge by what we see in the lives of the candidates then? I MEAN if u want someone to lead you to act in a way that is responsible would you not look at their track record? RUDY JULIANY favors the murder of unborn children now that is definately wrong Hilary clinton also favors this . If MURDER is ok for an unborn baby yet clearly alive as we know today then who is next?..
WHO among them who want to be elected want to do so for good and not just as a power trip or to feed their own egos? remember they are not mayor or even GOVENOR they lead the country they can apoint supreme court justices that can decide issues of great consequences for good or evil.
IF a leader is ok with murdering helpless unborn children IS IT THEN JUST TO DECLARE THOSE SICK WITH DISEASE OK TO END THEIR LIFE TOO? what about the aged since they cant contribute to society are they too then deemed unnecasary lets stop paying out for their health care too? ATHIESTS SAY OPENLY i dont believe in A GOD . THEY FEAR NOT HIM so what isto stop them from doing whatever they please?/ aconstitutional ammendment can be pased that can take away your individual freedoms then .
dont believe it cannot happen either look no further than when muslim extremists hit the world trade center [ allegedly for some claim it to be a set up} are we not now with less civil liberties then before?? as far as candidates go their are non i would trust democrat or republican. WHO IS WORSE AMONG THEM OR WHO CAN U AGREE THAT WONT PUSH THEIR OWN AGENDA ONTO US?? think about it carefully now ;; mj ,

i think being an atheist is political death in american politics so I would say quite a few are "in the closet" so to speak but keep up a front

It wouldn't matter a bit to me if they were. I'd vote for an atheist lesbian pre-op transsexual stripper with a hair-lip and a bad rainbow Afro wig if I could take them at their word that they would be for national security, a secure border, cutting government waste, lower taxes, a smaller government and keeping that government out of my bloody life!

Well,

I think most candidates claim to be Christians, but behind the scenes there are few that actually walk the walk or do hardly anything to espouse their Christian faith. For all practical purposes, many are probably closer to atheism than Christianity.

Its sad. Very sad.

I think they're all believers to some degree. It's politically expedient.

I know the PAULO types will differ, but they're not my patients and I'm not a psychiatrist.

Ronald Reagan barely went to church, the least of any president in my lifetime.

Personally, I don't care what their religious views are. I'm more concerned about who is going to be the best person to clean up the mess that our present leader has gotten our country into...
