I have had a lot of help previously so here goes again!!!

When I use a home version of WORD [and windows XP] I go to the usual "open" menu and click so that the little "panel" opens in the centre of the page showing me what files are available. I click in the usual way and the document opens. No problem there.

Is there any way that I can print a copy of the "panel" showing all the files or do I need a different version?

Thank you all. I tried it and - just as you predicted - it worked perfectly!!

It was the fact that when I pressed "Print Screen" nothing seemed to happen that fooled me. I had not appreciated the need for pbrush. You all deserve to be best answer [well most of you any way]. Even the one who simply said "yes" indicates that I should have worded the question better.

I will have to pick a best answer I suppose though it will be hard. In due course.

What it sounds like your describing is printing the directory listing (where it shows the filenames of all your documents). Alternatively if you want to open and print all the documents in the directory you can hold down "shift" and left click multiple documents then click "open". This will open all the documents you selected at once.

It really depends on how many files that particular directory has if its going to be easy to print them all on one page. First close Microsoft Word and locate the folder these documents are in (If you have trouble try searching for the folder name).

Once you find the folder click the "view" menu at the top of the folder and select "details" to show as many files at possible at once.

Hold "alt" and hit the "print screen" key on your keyboard. This will make a snapshot of all the files but it wont do anything immediatly.

Click "Start" go to "run" and type "pbrush" and it should open Paint Brush (This comes with Windows). Go to the "edit" menu and select "past" and the screenshot you took should appear.

Go to "file" and select "print" and send it to your printer.

Note: You might want to change your printer to print only in greyscale (black & white) to save ink.

You can make a screen shot of that "panel" by pressing Alt+Print Screen. Close the panel and paste (Ctrl+c) in a blank document and then print it. If you have more files than those that appear in the Word dialog box, it might be easier to manually go to the folder that contains those files and do a print screen there. Hope this helps and good luck!

In the 'Panel, where it says 'All Word Files' at the bottom, change this to 'All Files'.
If you want a screenshot of this, leave the 'panel' open and hold down the ALT button and press PrintScreen button. Then open Paint and click Edit > Paste. The screenshot will appear

good point - i always open the panel as much as I can (which is a Windows thing by the way), the press PRT SCR button, open MS paint and paste into the creen, or open an empty word document and paste it there to print (usually landscape is needed) ....

if you find a better way let me know ,bugging me for years ....

On your keyboard you should have a button labeled 'Prnt Scrn' or 'SysRq'.
When you have on the screen what you wnat to save in an image, press that button once and it saves an image of exactly whats on the screen at the time.
Then go back to word and right click and select paste. That image will appear in your document as a picture.

You can also save it as an image on its own. Use any photo editor or paint and you can save it as an image on its own.

I would hit your "print screen" button and paste it into a word document as a picture then print it

Easiest Way would be to take a screen print.

hit "ctrl" and "prt sc" and then paste it into word, you can then crop it with the picture toolbar.

Edit: Maybe best answer should go to who came up with it first :-) But then I would say that wouldn't I.
