As a Christian - and a gay man made in God's image - I can tell you this.
Our Lord never once - not a single time - even mentioned homosexuality at all. He did however condemn divorce and re-marriage - a most commonly accepted practice in the church today - and called it the exact same thing as adultery.
If homosexuality is a sin - it is no better nor worse than adultery, divorce and re-marriage.

There are some out there that claims the bible says that it is against Gods will, and others that say that God doesn't give a damn.
I just have one rule.
My religion, the Golden Rule
I look at several things, then put that together with common sense.
Example:
The bible was not written down for generations. Then factor in translations, versions (King James Version, etc) and the game of telephone, the only logical conclusion, its folklore and smoke and mirrors.
That is why I have one religion, the Golden Rule.
That’s the one rule that is universal throughout all religions.
If that rule was adhered too, war would be rare, human suffering even rarer and mankind would be doing one hell of a lot better.
Instead, we make excuses not to follow the Golden Rule.
Example:
It is said; George Bush claimed that God told him to invade Iraq. Bin Laden claims God has instructed him to use terror. The contradictions, in both instances, makes both of them guilty of excusing their behavior that has resulted in thousands dead.
Here’s the kicker; for those believers and non believers, God and humanities basic tenet is the Golden Rule, all the rest of the rules follow that.
Therefore, for me to condemn homosexuals would be against the first rule.
I wish people would understand the above. Life would be so much easier if we did. Instead, as Confucius said, “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”
Peace
Jim

Read the letter on http://www.godmademegay.com
It explains many of the common misconceptions of the Bible with regards to homosexuality.
And no, it wasn't written by a gay man.

I don't know how else to quote it without actually showing it to you:
1 Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders”
Other Scriptures:
Romans 1:27
1 Timothy 10
Leviticus 18:22
Genesis 19:1-19

Its clearly in the Bible. Why all the thumbs down? Seriously, if you'll be realistic. Look at the man and woman's bodies. Men and women's reproductive organs fit together like puzzles. That's how we reproduce offspring. Hence, becoming one. Its not physically possible for the same sex to reproduce. God created us to reproduce, and that would be hard to achieve if man and man were lying with each other, as they would with a woman.
Mark 10:6-8
"But God's plan was seen from the beginning of creation, for 'He made them male and female. This explains why a man leaves his father and mother to be with his wife and is joined to his wife. and the two are united into one.'..."

Ehhhh... not a christian but if you'll forgive me deviating from your instructions, I recall a verse that states, "Man shall not lie with man." Mayhaps another could give the address.

How about Genesis?
God created Adam and Eve, not "Adam and Steve" (or "Ada and Eve" lol)
It was always man and woman. Never man and man, not woman and woman. Man and woman were created to "fit" together if you know what I mean. Same sexes don't "fit" (I can't really say it lol)
