Depression is a Spiritual problem. It comes from the disconnect with ones own inner Self.... which is the source of all your inner strength and happiness.

The most effective way to handle it is with the age old methods of Yoga and the deeper aspects of Yoga. It's best to get personal instruction, but there are some instructions online. The "Leap Over Web Clutter" section on this website has good links and the book at the top can be helpful to understand how to connect with your inner Self.

Depression can run in the family for generations. Mostly there can be two types of depression Situational-that which a current or past situation is causing you to be depressed. Or, you have had a diagnosis of major or some other type of depression. People who have long-term depression ususally have a shortage of hormones in the brain and they need antidepressants to manufacture them.
See a therapist, psychiatrist or someone who can help you determine if you are depressed. There is no sense in walking around life in a rage, tired all the time, or not interested in life.
