It would be quite foolish to accept what anyone said no matter who they are.
The Bible says to test all spirits, because God is clearly aware that satan copies what the Holy Spirit does in order to deceive people.
And in these times, church leaders are deceiving a lot gullible believers, and yet the bible encourages us not to be foolish but as wise as serpents.
I was attending a church where the pastor would take money from the congrgation and tell them everytime that is was for a building fund which up till today has not materialised and of course he was using the money for his own needs.
Some of the members were even deceived that the pastor could live like the way David or Abraham did, ie, that he could have other peoples wives and the sinlge girls.
The pastor would also prophsey on an issue that you consulted him about and he would say "behold, the Lord says...."
We as believers need not be foolish and accept what anyone who stands on a pulpit says, if a word does not tie-up with the word of God, we are to disregard it completely.

I do not accept what is preached from the pulpit blindly. If fact if something is not right in the preaching the Holy Spirit gives me a warning about it. I mostly rely on the Holy Spirit who is my Teacher and Counsellor in all things. Christians are also expected to search the Scriptures to satisfy for themselves that what has been said is true.
Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word in all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

No, I do not blindly accept what they say. In fact, our pastors encourage us to get out our Bibles and do our own research to make sure that what they preach is true to Scriptures. If we do find some discrepancy, they also encourage us to come and discuss it with them. I respect that; in my home church the pastors often had their own interpretations of Scripture, and if you didn't agree with it, you were "misinterpreting the original Hebrew or Greek."

The Bible did not exist at the same time as Jesus changed into round. you do no longer make any experience! maximum Christians comprehend that the Bible isn't a unmarried seamless list, yet instead an assembly of thousands of resources. a number of those are more suitable questionable than others, notwithstanding the smart observer promptly concludes that the Bible has endless issues. So, no, we do not think of the Bible as absolutely straightforward, and no, we do not regard it as absolute reality. Christians are persons who've chosen to regulate to the direction illumined through Jesus. for this reason they are referred to as Christians. Your thoughts about this do no longer extremely have any impact on the definition. you should do not ignore the smart human beings as now no longer thoroughly Christians. i do no longer think you qualify as Christian thinking that you so absolutely do not keep on with the teachings of Jesus. the teachings of Jesus frequently are literally not really what Jesus is meant to have reported, notwithstanding the existence he lived -- the way he interacted with adult adult males and women individuals. your self-righteous submit obviously exhibits that you doesn't comprehend the authentic teachings of Jesus in the journey that they hit you interior the face. i'm sorry if I sound somewhat offended, yet i'm so very sick of listening to the nonsense out of your form, who do no longer extremely favor to recognize what the Bible extremely calls us to do, and also you flow and locate fault with others. Straighten out your own life and extremely study what Jesus ' life on earth skill before than you presume to criticize others.

I check what he says in God's word. We are told to dicern, and to try the spirits. Even Jesus himself showed the apostles through scripture that what he says was true.

Easy.
1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

NO, i must see to it that a certain pastor is living out what he preaches....But it happens now there are evangelists or preachers who really do not practice what they utter in their homilies, but anyway, I am not here to follow them, I am here to FOLLOW JESUS WHO IS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A GOOD AND INTEGRATED PREACHER....

Nope - all my life in Church of Christ, Christian Church and Disciples of Christ - one thing I always appreciated is the men from the pulpit reminding us to challenge their opinions, to look things up for ourselves, to attend Bible Study, but also to have our own personal Bible Study and quiet time alone in meditation with God.
In fact - it was through such intensely personal and private quiet times with God - that I finally left the church, convinced that organized religion was an hindrance - not a help - to my own spiritual growth.
But thanks for asking!!
