Before christianity a religion thats approx 2000 years old, and islam approx 1400 years old, and also many of the other northern hemisphere religions, what religion was they ?
just because a few books that were written a long long time ago, that dictated a way of life, and political existence, does not mean we have to adhere to them.
Most of the religious crap that some of you weirdos follow because your brainwashed was written at a time in history when eclipses were seen to be omens, and someone with an idea was either mad or seen as a leader.
I hate religion and believe it should only be kept in your homes or church, and none of what goes on in your homes or churches should be allowed to spill out into the mainstream of the public eye.
I do not want this,,,,, and nor do many other people.

TO YOU ALL ESPECIALLY LADYDEE
your upbringing is somewhat a worry that maybe your parents forced their religiousness upon you. I am not alone in believing that all religion is fake and pointless and as for those who DO have a religious beliefe just remember its yours and should be kept that way not spouted like a fountain of dung to us all who do not want it.
thanks to everyone for answering

If you are actually asking what religions existed before Islam and Christianity, think of Judaism, Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Celtic, Druid, Syrian, and all manner of others, including the very many in Native American cultures, Buddhism (only 500 years older than Christianity) and east Asian religions such as Tao.
Also, I thoroughly agree. Religion has never brought anything but suffering. I think of radical Islamic terrorist sects, and am reminded of the Inquisition, and crusades...They are nigh of identical! I therefore hold firm that Christians are terrorists.

Hello Chubbybloke.......You would have great difficulty keeping religion out of the as you call it mainstream/public eye...Do you knot know that 90% of the British Law is based on the 10 commandments?
The law relating to child labour (as under the age of 15 children are not to work in full time jobs), the age of consent, the laws against slavery were all brought about by Christians...You would have to go back to the dark ages & pre Hebre/Christianity/Muslim faiths to keep peoples faith out of the mainstream & even then the Pagon religions were at the fore setting the rules of how people should live....So that means that you would have to be in the cave man pre history before religion was out of the limelight.....AND, THERES AN AND!!!! evidence point that stoneage man had religions!
I am no twit!

As i read your question i was preparing to answer a reasonable question. It then became evident that you are not interested in an informed debate but purely in insulting people you have never met and dismiss without listening to the reasons they have for their faith.
You speak disparagingly about things you have likely never looked into in any depth. You assume that people are brainwashed, could i brainwash you? No. So what makes you think that others are brainwashed just because you don,t understand or agree with them.
You wasted a good opportunity.

I really understand what you are saying but feel that it would have more effect on others if you couched it in more polite langauge. People don't like being insulted and called weirdos. I get plenty of thumbs down but can already see yours coming and it's a shame because you have some really valid points.

Most people practised druidism or some other kind of polytheism which believed in many gods or deities such as the ancient Greek or Egyptian religions where there was a different god for almost everything.

Most of your crap that you as a wierdo follows has brainwashed you.I hate people who don't believe in religion and i don't feel that attitude should be allowed anywhere in this world. I don't want people like you in this world who preach bitterness and nor do many other people.
So whats your point?
You hate religion and well people who support religion have pity on you.
What do you expect this big hatred of yours is gonna change the fact that millions of people have faith in a God. Its sad how delusional you really are.

I completely agree, but to answer your questions...:
They were mainly pagan *gasp* either of the Roman pantheon, Greek pantheon, or, before Judaism, the Egyptian pantheon. That was mainly in the Middle East, not the entire world.
And I do agree with you. People just need to keep it private, and not in politics, etc. and we'd be all good.
You're right on a majority of your points, so good job and keep fighting the good fight! ^_^

You're forgetting the majority of people on the planet have a religous belief of some sort.
Saying you want it out of public view is saying you want the whole planet to conform to your individual rules.
Guess what I do not have to conform to that :)
I suggest you buy a "Strutter Bubble"
