It depends on the director. If you believe in God and the afterlife then you'll go backstage which can also be deemed as the life behind the scene, the afterlife, the life that awaits us beyond what we have now....But if you don't believe in God and the afterlife then you'll exit through the frontstage, pass through the audience, and get out to the place where I don't know where....

The question is better than alot of the answers you have yet received.
Maybe we just become part of the audience - able to watch and enjoy what we would love to be part of. But as we are in another realm, unable to communicate with and control what happens on stage.

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My duty toward god was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of God to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"

Wild Blue Yonder. Graceland. ( Elvis fans, only )
Up, up and away. Jump on the low swinging Chariot.

Or, hell if you don't change your ways.

It depends on your acting. The curtain will come down. Then you will either go to heaven or Hell. You write the final act for yourself.
