I don't know what HUG is thinking about. Honestly i don't believe she can think. But try this
____ Chapter 3: Surveying the Life and Teachings of the Historical Buddha
Also, even though you may be following a path, you're not really going anyÂwhere. It's not as if suffering is somewhere over here and liberation is in some other country. Some Buddhist traditions stress this point by speaking about the "pathless path" or the "path without a goal." These paradoxical phrases serve to emphasize the immediacy of spiritual experience and help free you from the expectation - which can itself be a hindrance - that enlightenment is somewhere other than right here, right now.
With these caveats in mind, here are the eight divisions of the path leading to the cessation of suffering:
y# Right view: The path begins when you see for yourself that suffering and dissatisfaction infect the entirety of ordinary, unenlightened existence. If you want to improve your situation, you need to cultivate the insightful wisdom that maintains this correct view clearly.
y# Right intention: Right intention - or right thought - involves giving up selfish attitudes that lead to further suffering and replacing them with their opposites. In place of thoughts that cause harm to yourself and
" others, you cultivate the intention to bring happiness to all.
y# Right speech: Because what you say can have a powerful effect on others and affect your own spiritual evolution as well, cultivating right speech is important. This cultivation involves speaking words that are true, pleasing to listen to, and most important, beneficial to others.
Y# Right action: Just as right speech means to avoid causing harm with what you say, right action means avoiding causing harm with what you do. So in place of physically hurting others through your actions, you seek to help and protect them.
Y# Right livelihood: You can earn your living in many different ways, but if you're intent on gaining more than just material wealth, avoid occupaÂtions that involve harm and deception. Naturally, a profession in which you can be of service to others is an excellent way of supporting yourÂself. But, even if you don't have that kind of job, you can still make sure that your dealings with others are honest and kind.
Y# Right effort: This type of effort concerns your spiritual practices.
Instead of being lazy, exert continuous, yet relaxed (some would say "effortless") effort to be aware of what's arising in your mind. If it's negaÂtive, don't let it overwhelm you; if it's positive, rejoice!
Y# Right mindfulness: Mindfulness - playing close attention to what's hapÂpening right now - is essential at all levels of spiritual practice. Instead of holding onto thoughts of the past or fantasizing about the future, keep your attention focused on the present moment. This advice applies not only to your meditation practice, but to your everyday activities as well. In fact, with strong mindfulness, your everyday activities themselves actually become a form of meditation.

One should always attempt to improve a situation with your action. Sometime the best action is to stay clear of the action. Perfection will never be reached in your actions, but one should try hard to do right by a situation. The truth is also hard to reach perfection on. The truth is what one depends on to act right. One can only try to do ones best. Meditation/pray, mind-body exercises, eating healthy, not overindulging, and being always on the alert to possible good inspiration, can help us act more right more often.

When I was in Religious Science, a common phrase was, "Divine Right Action". We used it in the form of affirmation, or prayer. The Science of Mind, the teaching of Religious Science, (Religious Science being the organization) uses affirmative prayer, known as spiritual mind treatment. Divine right action is the movement of God, the idea being that all action of God is right action.

"Right action," according to Buddhists is "skillful" action (as opposed to "unskillful" action), which I take to mean action taken while fully mindful. This would require the emptying out of the ego-self to become aware in the moment and allow the essence of Love to freely move through the body vehicle (forgive me if this is poorly worded) without attachment to specific outcomes. Herein lies the "skillful" or "rightful" perspective: being awake and aware and allowing the Absolute field to do Its thing without interference from the ignorance of limited ego-mind. One can only act rightly or skillfully if one removes one's self from the equation. As one empties of the false self, one becomes authentic and is able to "act" from an integrated and whole position--from one's true nature. It is from this essential core that all right and skillful action flows. I am Sirius

in any situation...ask yourself is it more important to be right or kind...
me and my husband are very into spirituality, and my mother in law is a spiritual couselor. my husband and i are so much alike that we bump heads..so she reminds us all the time when we get in an arguement, is it better to be right or to be kind.
to me right action is just being kind....being loving, and always going to your heart about things.
hope this answers your question. have a blessed day :D
