Well the boring but correct answer is eating good food and doing regular exercise to lose weight gradually. But if you can cope with the low carb regime of Atkins, that method does work pretty fast. By the way, the Atkins diet has gone through ridicule to scientific confirmation several times. After Dr. Atkins died (a bang on the head after a fall) it was scrutinized again and the skeptics came out in force. But, once again, medical opinion has changed and it's considered safe - in fact you can now by many low carb foods from the supermarkets. The general idea is to eat less carbohydrate and starch and more protein - so less bread, pasta, potatoes etc and more cheese, meat, eggs etc. In other words, eat more of the stuff that is meant to be bad for you!!

Firstly deal with the problem which caused you to gain the weight in the first place. This is different for everyone but here are the main culprits I see.

Unresolved emotional issues

Not enough food or Too much food

Too much of or too little of a particular type of food (carb's protein or fat)

Not enough sleep

Not enough movement

Too much exercise

Health issues- food intolerance and/or fungal infection and digestive system stress

Eating processed foods

Drinking calories- alcohol, soft drinks, fruit juices, sports drinks (without doing extreme sports)

If you remove the problem your weight will normalise with the help of any type of safe exercise.

Keep a nice food diet.
Be disciplined.
Keep with your daily exercise.
Just do the damn thing and get on the dance floor.
Don't drink too much.
Or if you don't dance, well, I still suggest you get dance lessons. Power dance lessons, that is.
