I think I have a pretty good idea where your air went.

Thanks for the two points!

Most bags like this as well as speed bags lose their air since they are getting hit and bouncing around or recoiling after hitting the platform that they are mounted to. The impact and stress causes some air to be lost through the valve or small leaks that open up as the shape of the bags are being distorted and let more air escape. If you hung your bag using a bungee cord and the hooks have penetrated the outer bag and the rubber air bladder inside of it then you have a ruined bag. You don't hang the bag with the hook directly so that the hooks cut into or penetrate it. Instead you thread the hook and several inches of the bungee cord through the bracket or thong tie it there and then again a few more inches up and then tape over the hook and remaining line so that it does not puncture the bag.

First answer is good advise.
You "may" be able to save that unit with some sealer.
In the automotive world "slime" or "flat-fix" is used to cure the same problem with a slow leak in a tire.
Check online or call large sporting goods stores and ask about a sealer for sports balls.
