I find it perfectly idiotic, when people earn 2 points by anwering a question, without actually answering the question but banging on about your inability to spell properly. When I spellt "peadofile" instead of "peadophile", was it that terribly difficult to understand what I meant by that word???

Nope... people like that i find arnt smart enough to come up with an intelegent answer so they find comfort in the fact that they can spell properly and use this tool to make themselfs seem better than anyone else. Its almost like a form of bullying and personaly i see it as an insecurity mechanism... Personally i cant spell for **** and It dosent really bother that many people seeing as they seem to actually be interested in my answers... i know there is a spell check button right there, we can all use it, but frankly when my writing is perfectly ledgable i would rather use that time to get that answer out there and then answer some more. Im not saying its not important for people to spell correctly because i think it is, but you dont have to get up on your highhorse about it just because you dont have anything interesting to say!

I am the king of typos. You see them everywhere in my answers.

But you have t agree with me that many people do not write propperly here. andI am not talking about typos. It is a serious problem. First, because they are not able to write down their own ideas in a form that others can understand clearly what they mean. And second, because with such a poor language, they make it harder for the reader to understand the message.

What many don't get is that writing is about communication. If their writing is poor, we have poor communication. and there is where the misunderstandings live.

Of course, silly typos are not really a huge problem. Sadly, most users go way far beyond silly typos.

Sometimes it make a qualitative change to the meaning of the question.
Sometimes someones bloody ignorance, just gets on my nerves.
Sometimes I just ignore it

It annoys me when someone is supposed to be giving a factual answer (rather than an opinion, for example) and they cant even be bothered to use the 'check spelling' option.

My personal pet peeve is people who don't understand the difference between 'then' & 'than', 'your' & 'you're' and 'their', 'there', & 'they're'

I've often miss-spelt words. To err is human, to forgive, divine.
I'll forgive your peadophile (paedophile), but some questions are so badly spelt that it's impossible to understand them.

I don't really worry too much about spelling, but I must admit, I am a pain in the **** when it comes to grammar. I think it speaks volumes about a person.

Some people think they're so damn smart huh? Who cares how it's spelt, the whole point is communication and if you've achieved that then where's there problem? I hate it when people pick on gramatical errors when I speak too, it's just rude.

If there wasn't a spell checker on here I might agree with you. Is it that difficult to click on that little green icon 'Check spelling'?
