There were WAY more horror films in the 70's and 80's.

It`s not just the volume of horror movies, it`s the content also.
The films now are gore beyond belief.

Don`t get me wrong, I love a good horror film. It`s great to get spooked and feed your morbid curiosity, but some of the films go abit too far. I`ve seen two Saw films but I can`t bring myself to watch the rest.
I`ve seen too much in real life and it brings it all back.

Bring back the horror but less gore. Keep the audience guessing. Hitchcock is still the master.

There are more horror movies being made now than in recent years... but not as many as were made in the 40s and 50s. Hwood is evil, but they make horror movies merely because that's what people want to watch.

Horror films only come during Halloween, just as Frosty the Snowman comes during the Christmas season.

nope, they have dwindled down horribly.

You must not remember Vincent Price and all of the stuff that came out between the 60's and early 80's.

note to Suzy,

Do not watch any of the movies from the 70's if you think this stuff is gorey. You better stay way the heck away from the original Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead.

Pretty big jump from a movie to Satan dont you think? Sometimes a movie is just a movie.

yes as have all movies but they don't scare me nearly as much as the war mongers with their bibles and korans under their arms that can't be content with peace . a cathartic horror flick is not much compared to the confuse superstitious thinkers and their religious fervor killing for a god. is that another name for satan?

They are easy to make on the production line. Most have predictable plots and can be made very cheaply. Satan has nothing to do with it.
