I am a christian. I know that this question has been asked many times but I want to know why christians seem to be so judgemental. I just read a previous question that was very similar but it was posted a year ago.

You see, my friend is an atheist and when people that claim to be christians find out, they pull away from him. Our faith should be about reaching out, and being there for people, not telling them that they are of hell. Jesus came to the world to save it, not to condemn it

You are right. We need to reach out to people. But on the other hand . Jesus didn't mince words, so we shouldn't either. The TRUTH, is just that TRUTH. But it does no good to pull away from someone-no encouragement there. People who don't accept him as he isatheism and all are not his friends. You and he need to find friends elsewhere. Keep praying for him, be an example, witnessing as opportunity arises. But what really works. Get group together your age and do stuff. Let him see God is exciting, fun, etc, not boring, scary, or weird. God Bless!!!!

I've seen this situation before. You'll be talking to someone, at some break in the conversation they'll ask if you're Catholic or something. And the conversation usually just continues, but you can tell they'd enjoy the conversation more if you were a Catholic.

we should not be judgmental let him who is without sin cast the first stone. It is for god to judge and we should love all mankind even if you do not agree with their beliefs and as a christian we should be trying to lead people to the lord by telling them that jesus died and rose again for our sins so that we can go to heaven to be with him. we should also be telling them how nice heaven is as the streets are paved with gold and there is no pain or sorrow or death etc and everyone is praising god

It is because of our pride and persons who is not in our group or total different way of life.

you have the point that we should reach out but not to condemn them.

Who's "we"?

Jesus said, in Luke 11:23,

"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters."

Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is a Christian. You will know them by their fruits. Are they gathering or scattering?

I'm not part of your "we." Are you?
