great question. I, luckily, have a son that can keep me occupied, and we play board games, or go and do fun activities (free ones!) like swimming, biking, hiking, visiting family, etc.
Sometimes the best memories are made from activities that require no money! I am unemployed right now and we have endless things to do to keep happy! If you do not have a child, spend some quality time with yourself...what do YOU enjoy doing? Spending time near water? Go to the beach or lake....go watch a movie alone (it's great!).....rent a movie, take a class....the possibilities are ENDLESS!!! Have fun! Sometimes it's better not to have to depend on others and have them ruin your plans!

Well I would think that getting a job would be priority number one, if possible. I have heard that you can make job search your "full time job". That is, spend as much time on looking for a job as you would working at a full-time job.

If you are not able to work, try giving volunteer service in your community. There are many schools, homeless shelters, nursing homes, and community organizations who will gladly take all the help they can get.

Once you're out there working and giving service, the friends will take care of themselves. And I think you'll feel better.

EDIT: I also think that going to school is a good idea.

Uhh sorry I never been in that situation, and hopefully I never will be. But I can say you can still pick your self up and carry on with your life.....how you ask, get a job you'll have money, then go out and meet new people. This world is too big to be stuck at home with no money, no job, and no friends. What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger, good luck.

I agree with Gabby Gal - charities need lots of help and every volunteer can be used. You will meet new people, have an interest in life and this will improve your general well being and make you more attractive. It will look good on your CV as well and be a talking point when you go for interviews as well as enabling you to keep your skills sharp.

Hmm, I would go look for a job. It's not meant as an insult, I would seriously do that. Or go to the beach.
