'With my friends.' This may be the problem. Get some new ones who do NOT smoke. Trust me. It's a great investment in YOURSELF. It's not too late.
Hard? Take a closer look at smokers. Women will typically have longditudial wrinkles on their upper lips, as well as more wrinkles generally, a greyish palor, rough voice. As well they likely stink, same as their cars, are often socially ostracized. Clothes are quite likely to have burns. They spend time actually going to get and maybe find their smokes and matches. If they go out they may be anxious about when the next smoke break will be. And be uncomfortable on long flights which are now smokeless. And they can have dirty looks for blowing stink at others. Endanger their kids? Likely. They'll have less money than a non-smoking counterpart with the same income.
And we haven't mentioned higher risks for cancer, heart disease, emphasea, the imparied circulation and breath and such, have we? Do you fancy yourself breathing through a hole in your neck?
Is any of this what you want? If you imagined the ideal, charming, sexy, adorable you, would you be imagining an addict, cigarette in hand?
Smokers forget there are things other than smoking that they like to do. BREATHING always comes to my mind. Try it breathe deep, long and slow. Try it again if you are silly enough to smoke another cigarette. See if it feels as good right after.
QUIT. You've nothing good to lose by doing so. You can't get caught if you aren't doing it. If you think you'll miss it, or these so called friends, walk, take up an new hobby, laugh more. Embrace life. Enjoy and preserve the health you have. BE grateful you ARE a non-smoker. There's much to love about that.
Quit. You deserve it.

Quitting is probably the best option. Once a day usually turns into a pack a day habit. I just quit after 12 years and I started off with just one a day. As far as the breath thing goes if you must smoke then I would say have a toothbrush handy and some gum. If your parents don't smoke then they can smell it on your clothes anyway so the breath thing isn't going to do you a bit of good.

Quit. You stink.
You will smell whether it's one or 20.
I know F me and all that, but it's true.
Forget the cancer and low birth weight and whatever labels they put on the packs! If that mattered, maybe you'd been smart enough not to start. I sure wasn't. (Are you saying you're not a smoker and can quit anytime, too?) Think about how it'd be great to exhale at the dentist, not have to step outside, are you still reading this, control your life instead of THAT controlling it, taste food (didn't notice myself til after quitting), not cough so much, have more money, feel better, doubt this gets best answer, smell better, LESS stress, white teeth, and there is so much more.
Not there yet?
Stop before you do.
It's not worth it.

carry a little travel toothbrush and trial size toothpaste in your purse. also a little bottle of mouth wash and a pack of strong smelling gum.
on the way home, quick little brush with a little dab of toothpaste, a quick swish with some mouthwash and then chew some gum.
your breath should be fine, but your clothes and hair might smell a little...

Taking mint, gums or sweet helps a bit. The best way is to eat something (especially soup based or spicy). This will hep to wash your windpipe that has the smell as well.
