In synagogue, orthodox Jewish women have covered their hair for thousands of years. There are family purity reasons for this act. (Women's hair is beautiful and should not be viewed casually by men other than their husbands. Unmarried women do not cover their hair.)
Men covered their heads to show that they were under the lordship of HaShem (G-d).
This is all still the case in orthodox communities. Shaul (your St. Paul) may not have been the author of that piece of the letter attributed to him. It may have been a later insert by more conservative members of the early church.

I'm not sure it even applied in St. Paul's time. It sounded like he was giving the Hellenistic women to cover their hair with wrapped-up hair, according to the Greek style, instead of covering their hair with cloth according to the Jewish style.
The point is to dress decently, whatever that may mean in a given culture.

Paul wrote that under divine inspiration, so yes, women should probably still do it but I don't think they will go to Hell if they don't. What worries me more is how they (women) are becoming ministers, priests and even Bishops (in the Episcopal church). Too many protestant churches in America are succumbing to political correctness and conforming to today's culture at the expense of the Word (like homosexuality). What a shame.

In the Bible days, women who uncovered their heads were often prostitutes, so culturally, it was unacceptable for a Christian woman to leave her head uncovered. We don't think that anymore, so that cultural rule doesn't really apply.

Christianity is very oppresive to women. The whole Adam and Eve story is blaming women for everything wrong in this world. Compare Judeism/Christianity/Islam with all other religions, and you won't find another that treats women as bad as they do.
And don't say Islam is different from Christianity, because the only difference is the footnote by Muhammad several hundred years later.

I don't know why people worry over this st. or that st. when you should be worried about what Jesus says. Your hair should be your glory.

You need a man to tell you what to do???
What do you feel comfortable doing?
Do you particularly look good in a head covering? Then do it!

No, and if you read ALL of 1 Corinthians 11, you'll see that it was never required. It was cultural, not scriptural.
