Baptism and usually two years of religious education classes leading up to First Reconciliation and then First Eucharist.

With love in Christ.

The child must be at the recognized age to understand the concepts of the Eucharist (usually age 7) and must receive instruction about the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist *and* Reconciliation (confession/absolution/penance). Then the child makes his/her first Penance and receives his/her first Communion shortly afterwards.

Some diocese are not performing the Sacrament of Confirmation first, which is done at a minimum age of 8. You'd have to check with your parish to know for sure.

Also, instruction for these Sacraments typically begins right after Christmas and entire classes of children receive their firsts on the same day. If your child does not attend Catholic school, you'd have to enroll him/her in a CCD class at the parish for instruction.

Baptism, First Communion, and Reconciliation are required. Confirmation will come later in the child's life.

Please, contact your local Catholic Parish for information on this subject. These answer forums are a terrible place to find the correct guidance.

Speak to the director of religious education. They usually require a year or two of classes before receiving First Communion.

since the eucharist has it's origins in the cult of osiris, you need to understand that subject first before you administer a pagan rite to an innocent child.
