Jesus said you would know them by their fruits. In Galatians 5, we read that the fruit of the spirit is love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self control. Folks who are living like this consistently are usually real Christians.
That's not to say that real Christians don't lose their tempers,or say something unkind occasionally, or get depressed. We all have a ***** in our armor. But their overall life should reflect these traits. If they don't, then their Christianity should be suspect.

The book of James specifically addresses this issue. However, the reason Jesus died is because we are all sinners and we all make mistakes.
I've heard people say "Christians are not perfect, they're forgiven," but the truth is that we were all forgiven when Jesus died for our sins. The difference is that Christians have accepted Jesus as their personal savior and try to live a life that pleases Him, and non-Christians have not accepted Him.
But Christians still make mistakes, if we didn't, we wouldn't have needed Jesus to pay for our sins in the first place. We are still human & we are still subject to the temptation of the devil. If we are loving our neighbors as ourselves and leaving the judgement to God, that is good step in the right direction.

You poke em with a pin. If they make a loud pop, they were a real Christian. If they make a farty oozy noise, they weren't.
Why do you find yourself concerned with this? Somebuddee wants to judge others, I think....
EDIT: oh my GEOWD Apostle Jeff, "their fruit"?!?! Just a hint, do NOT go around inspecting Christian people's fruit. Whether real or unreal, they will probably have the same reaction.

The "real" christians are all those saints pointing their fingers at the "unreal" christians and frowning.

Simple. You'll know us by our fruits. If our fruits are rotten, then you can assume that WE are rotten.
And I'm not talking about making mistakes every now and then, because everyone does. I'm talking about consistently going against the teachings of the Bible, and then trying to rationalize it.

DOESNT THE BIBLE TELL US BY THEIR FRUIT YOU WILL KNOW THEM?/ it means by their lifestyle and what comes from their lips! a christian should be open tolearning new things even if they havent heard it presented in a certain way before..

It is hard to find.The Bible is your guide.Unreal will said they are real.True real will hide as they know it is hard to find another real one.Why not you be the real one.Do what the Bible said and not the father or pastor said as now even devil can be one..Answer and Questions.You will find the Truth.May God Bless You.Amitabha
