I know about a party that will take place in a rural town in California, and I know for a fact that there will be alcohol served to minors, and also I know that there will be lots of drunk drivers in the road that night, this coming saturday 11/10. I feel the responsability to call the local sheriffs department and telling them my concerns. I would really hate for somebody to hurt innocent victims. And what concerns me the most is the fact that a majority of people attending this party are illegally in this country, and easily disregard our laws. So, please give me an advice as to how I should approach this matter? I am really concern for the safety of innocent drivers in the road that night because I know these people are not concern about the law since most of them are here illegally and have not much to loose. So, how should I approach the sheriffs department, and will this be the moral and ethical thing to do? Thanks.

Call it in. Call ICE/INS too, not just to local sheriff/PD.

If you feel that it is likely that someone could be injured, I'd say it is your responsibility to report the situation. It's one thing if kids are being given a glass of wine or champagne by responsible adults during some celebration - that might be overlooked. But if you know that children are being allowed copious amounts of alcohol, and that people may be driving drunk or getting into serious trouble, you should contact the authorities about it and voice your concerns to them. Simply call and let them know that there is a party going on where children are being served alcohol, and people may possibly be driving drunk from the party.

If it will have minors feel free to go ahead and drop the time, and location to the local sheriffs department.

Any means necessary.

Go to a phone booth and call 911. That way they will not know who called. You know...if anyone gets drunk and kills someone on the roadway...the person that has the party could be filed on...both criminal and civil court.

An anonymous phone call would be the right thing to do.
