Hey! I got my ears pierced on my birthday, too!
It hurts like a hard pinch. It's nothing too bad. Nothing to make you cry or bleed. It's a really fast process.
After you get them pierced, you'll feel a bit of a tingly/stinging sensation in your ears that will disappear after a couple hours.
Don't worry! It'll be over in 10 seconds tops. I would know, I remember.

Firstly, make sure you go to a professional, that doesnt use a gun. The gun carries a lot of bacteria and cannot be sterilised, along with the fact that the earring they use to pierce with is blunt.
If its done by a professional piercer, using a hollow needle, then there will be very little pain, if any at all.
As for aftercare, do not use alcohol, peroxide, neosporin or anything of that nature. Just a simple sea salt water, H2Ocean, or even just regular clean water.
Keep hair away from them if possible, as it can cause irritations and infection, plus the shampoo etc is not very good for them.
They might be a little tender for the first few days, maybe upto a week or two, but after that they will settle down. It will take a min of 6 weeks before you can change the jewellery.
Hope that helps.

If you want it bad enough, the pain won't matter, but it does pinch quite a bit. I think the piercings with a piercing gun hurt worse than going to a piercer that is in the tattoo shop or a place similar to that that uses a needle to pierce.

Yeah it does hurt for like 10 seconds. But after that it's all good. And it's deffinately not the type of pain you'll even remember the next day. Have fun getting them peirced. Earrings are awesome!

Yes it hurts. Is it tolerable, yes. Does the pain last, no. It is not worse than a second long bee sting. Its just kinda like a quick pinch. It would hurt more if it got infected, compared the actual piercing. YOu will be fine, don't worry!

As long as you get it done professionally, it should only hurt for a second. They're a little sensitive to sleep on at first while it's healing too. As long as you clean the piercings as directed you should be fine.

Truthfully, it hurts a tiny bit. The anticipation of pain is far worse than the actual pain though. It isn't very painful and the pain only lasts for a second or so. Go for it, you will not be in any great pain =)

If you are getting them done professionally, all you will feel is a little pinch when the stud goes in your ear. The gun makes a loud noise which freaks a lot of younger kids out. You should be fine.

I got them done with a needle and it wasn't that bad.
But think of it like this, it's only a few seconds and the jewellery is in!
Good luck :)
