It depends on what state you live in, and which coverages you have.

"Full coverage" means 100 different things to 100 different people.

If you have property damage liability on your policy, that's what pays for the damage to any other car that YOU are liable for. Go ask your agent, to be sure.

Car insurance has two parts. One is Liability insurance. This covers damage to other vehicles caused by you.

The other part (which is optional unless you have a loan on the vehicle, in which case the bank will require it) is Collision insurance. This pays for damage done to your vehicle.

For example, I have two cars which I own outright (no bank loans). One car is old and not worth a lot of money, so I do not cover it for collision damage (the insurance company would only pay what the car is worth - not what it takes to repair it if the repair is more than the value of the car - if it is damaged). The other car is newer and still worth a lot of money, so I pay for collision insurance on it.

Hope this helps you. Best wishes and good luck.

Yes it should.

Full coverage insurance covers both your car and the other persons car as well. In most states you must carry at least liability insurance, which only covers the other persons car.

Auto insurance coverage packaged into different coverage types. then if you have full coverage it might as well pay the damage on both cars..it covers damage to your car when your car hits, or is hit by, another vehicle, or other object....
