Yes, I agree. A church should not be in such a predicament. But this type of thing goes on all the time in churches and I think it will continue for a long time. The reason it goes on is because of the blind faith that people put in their pastor as if he has somehow been blessed by God himself.
The cover up by the bishop for the pastor will not be the first time it has happened either. This has happened a lot recently among catholic clergy.

How very sad for a church family to be split. Unfortunately it happens to the best of them. For the Bishop to fully understand what is going on, what the pastor has been doing must be documented. What will happen,is this Church will split, and another congregation will be started. I hope that your Bishop will be able to see clearly and make a reasonable judgment. Blessings to you, Chaplain Debby

First and formost, you must pray. But remember that the church is made of saints and sinners, so pray for unity and conversion for those in need of it. Other than that, i'd say that only those who have light shown into the darkness are exposed and purified, so if there is real proof of CRIMINAL wrong doing, take it to the police or the media. this is just my opinion. If the problems persist, eventually everyone with an ounce of moral integrity will get fed up and leave for another parish within the denomination, and leave those wolves to themselves. You are also morally justified in discontinuing your tithe. Just give to charity or missions. good luck , God bless

by using fact he's mendacity to you and dont even understand that himself. What preachers are being taught in seminaries is lies, fake doctrine, mans doctrine, no longer gods and to many people hear to the preacher as a substitute of analyzing the bibles themselves. while they instruct god love all of us, or you'll be saved and nevertheless be a sinner. those are the two lies, fake doctrine created to mislead even gods own chosen few. be careful the mild-bearer will take "maximum, 2/3rds", of each and every of the human souls with him, for decrease than one million/3 would be rather saved this time around.

I left mine, do the same. Sometimes you can't change things even if they're wrong and the only thing you can do is make the change yourself. I was in the same boat about making up my mind afterward in regards to which church to join now. Prayer along with the word of God and faith go along way. If things are as they are maybe God's giving you a caution as to which guidelines to follow. Ask God personally to help you with this problem and accept his answer even if it means staying there. Good luck and God bless

Dont try to fix it....pray God will fix it.....(for your sake). You are a good person, whom believes men of God should be held to an even higher standard, they should be.....but this happens all the time in every church. Just remember what this is really all about (God vs. Devil). God will win in the end. It still hurts, I know.... but have you ever considered this is just a plot of the Devil's to cause you pain? I hate the Devil, but we have to rise above this church stuff.... Its about how we react, its about the devil trying to discurage you from your faith in religion.... don't give up, trust God will fix His own church .... may the Holy Spirit touch you my friend.

Set up a picket line next Sunday. Be sure to notify the local press. Carry signs. Sing We Shall Overcome.

first pray for your leaders, they need direction from God, and when this happen, is better to let go people who's hurting the church.
But if you really care, don't gossip, just pray and put more attention to those believers that are babies in the faith.

isn't that the natural history of religion? I will be surprised if a pastor told the truth and did anything other than fleece the flock
