I started getting a headache wednesday Nov. 7 and I took two alieve, but they did not help so I went to bed to try to sleep it off. That did not work either when I woke up I still had the headache. I went to my therapist today and by the time I got home the headache was 10 times worse. When I bend over it feels like my head is a bomb and just waiting to explode. I did have a headache like this before and I went to ER they done a cat scan and a spinal tap and they came back ok. I followed up with my Dr. and he said that I had viral menagitis. That was last year. I have not had a bad headache since then. I never get headaches and if I do alieve usually helps no problem. Suggestions and help PLEASE

i dont know about it being viral meningitus. I'd get a 2nd opinion about that. but it sure sounds like yur having grade A migraines. try to relax in a dark room & put ice , yes, ice, under your neck & switch back & forth with it over your forehead, even on ur eyes, if it goes down that far.

Migraines generally start up the neck to the head, or they can be cluster headaches. be careful of the aleve, it & all ansaids are acidic, so eat a cracker or have milk tto take it, plus it's safe to take a tylenol w/an ansaid.

I went to the E.R. with mine, & they would give me a shot of Demerol & some hydrocodone, or vicoden, name brand. What is especcially formulated for that, is Fioricet. , it is prescription thouh. so if you ask for it , your dr may want to know how you knew about either of the 2, so tell him you searched on Yahoo!Answers & learned it there, so they wont be intimitated by you.

I've lost a dr or 2 by studying medicine & keeping up w/what they're giving me.

but it shure does sound like a big migraine, ..........

If it hurts when you bedn over, that is usually an indication of a sinus infection. I would go see your doctor about that. If it is not a sinus infection, they may be able to rule out other stuff. They can treat it with medication.

You can try heat on your heat, like a heating pad or a hot shower or bath. There are over the counter things such as Feverfew, B2, Magnesium, and Valarian Root that can help with headaches.

Good luck!

Doctors tell anything and reports are always nill!

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases like RA, Back ache, earache etc. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.

These useless drugs have enormous power to create hazardous side effects like liver/kidney failure, ulcer, acidity and lot others.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

Pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds!

For forehead/eyes the points will be in front of the finger nail on or below the tip of fingers.
