You don't need to go in for fresh passport after the marriage but just get endorsement of your spouse name or change of name or surname ( in case of woman) in the original passport itself. First thing which is required is the Registration of this marriage by the registrar of marriages either under section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 if the parties are Hindus & married according to the Hindu form of marriage, in your case even under the Bombay Marriage Act, or under the Special Marriage Act,1954. The marriage certificate issued by the marriage registrar will be only recognized for the purpose of any amendments in the passports of both the spouses. You just have to give a copy of such certificate, file the necessary form regarding changes/additions/amendments, and deposit the required fee for this job. The total time taken for all such changes/amendments/additions etc takes only few hours & you can collect your passports on the same day. My own daughter after her marriage got all such amendments made in her passport in just one hour in Delhi Passport office & that too without any ones help, so beware of the touts sitting outside passport office.
