animals have sex because they have the urge. they do NOT think, "i wouldnt mind some little nippers" .
it is an instinct driving them to ensure survival of their own genes.
do christians honestly believe that the human desire for sex is any different?
why do men like young and pretty girls? because they are very good candidates for being fertile, disease free, and healthy mothers of their children. Men DONT think that literally, but their INSTINCTS tell them that young and pretty is good.
i really have a hard time trying to understand people who cannot accept the massive influence of evolution on human psychology.

"Wait, so now you are saying we think the same as animals? I thought the whole point of evolution was that we had "evolved" to be better than animals, to actually be able to think, not just act on instinct. You are contradicting your own theory here."
no. you have it very wrong. i have a genetics degree, so please trust me when i tell you that your idea of evolution is very mistaken. There is no such thing as "better". everything alive today is equally evolved.

no animal has sex with the intention of having kids. can we please give up on the "animals only have sex to reproduce" argument. they do it because they want to satisgy their urge. in other words, they enjoy it.

Nobody said that men didn't think this way~even Christian men. The difference is the ability to reason and make Godly decisions.

First off, all animals think. Human being have higher, complex brains and are capable of distinguishing differences (usually). All animals are driven by instinct and survival needs. Sex is a survival need for most. For humans it's also a desirable need and "love", hence love making. It's always been accepted that men married younger prettier women to boost the gene pool and stay within the "biological clocks" of women. Now, why do women have instinct telling them to married tall, dark and handsome men? I suppose they don't think literally either!
Ed: Sorry, tall, dark, wealthy and handsome men...
Now where can I find a wealthy woman too?

It's actually hormones, not instinct. Most female mammals go through an estrus cycle which is hormonal not instinctive, and the periodic occurences can vary greatly. On the other hand, female humans go through a menstrual cycle, so their systems are constantly filling with hormones just like the males (estrogen/testosterone)
As a hunter, I take advantage of this by leaving certain scents and following procedures, to take advantage of excess testosterone in the male animal's system. This usually causes a response similar to lust and roid rage due to higher levels of aggression.
Most folks say animals can't feel emotions, but this is untrue. Many animals weep when they are forced apart from their mates (dogs, birds and rodents are a few examples). Some animals will even sacrifice their lives to save their loved ones. If that's not love, then what would you call it? If they can feel brotherly and familial love, then why not romantic love?

hi,
animals do not 'make love' they 'mate' because they do have the urge or instinct and they do it only at a time when they want to grow their species. however one thing is they do not possess the sense of reason. for example in wild animals the male that is the strongest gets the opportunity to mate with the female and they do have conflicts to establish their authority. however the next time around they have to establish their authority over another female for which again they need to fight...
coming to human beings it is important to understand that there are several schools of thought on the subject of 'human evolution'.
for instance 'sanathana dharma' the religion followed by the Hindus states that the 'Atman' itself has various stages before it reaches that form. it starts as an atom evolves thru may be as a grain of sand or amoeba, insect, reptile or plant or tree or mammal before reaching the human form. other religions have their own doctrines which is needs to be discussed at length. for example the catholic church has said that marriage is important before sexual union so that the sanctity is maintained, secondly the aspect of monogamy. the doctrine was formed very well knowing that man or woman cannot suppress their passions. the catholic church also propagates that abortion is wrong because once the foetus is formed it has life and aborting it amounts to murder... however they should allow the use of condoms as that will prevent sexually transmitted diseases especially in places like south america where their moral values are different such as sex before marriage, livein relationships etc
if the evolution of a human is recent even with the sense of reasoning that all humans possess as the 'animalistic instincts' is upper most and his behavioral patterns is such that he thinks sex is an outlet and an urge which may be used for procreating and for pleasure as well.
In highly evolved human beings they possess such self control that they involve in 'sexual union' only for the purpose of procreating either once a year or 2 depending on their financial ability to fulfill their parental obligations. this is how it is practised in India where I live... there are several aspects that are missing here due to lack of time

Animals and humans are not the same.
Just because they have been classified that way, doesn't make it true.
People are very brainwashed by what they have been taught in school, and the idea that there is little to no difference between humans and animals is a religious concept of it's own that is not Godly.
Think About it.

"Human Love" is an affection in the direction of a lover, kinfolk member and/or only a chum, and lasts a life time. i'm going to no longer be an animal, yet as some distance i understand, animals have a cut back. as an occasion, if a male dogs and a woman dogs mate, that does no longer mean there're in love or somethin', I evaluate it an instint, there is no longer love nor affection, besides "the male dogs" will reproduce throughout returned with different woman dogs. Now, if a dogs mom has domestic dogs, for sure, she cares for them, yet has a "cut back". as quickly as those domestic dogs boost, the mum will possibly no longer reconize them anymore, and sees them as different dogs. yet no longer only dogs, different animals besides. i'm no longer asserting that animals do no longer love, they do, yet have a cut back. unlike pets or companion and childrens animals, they final longer.

It doesn't really matter what a man's instinct is. He should have a brain, a heart and a conscience that tells him it's wrong for him to desire a young girl. He should know that his needs do not outweigh hers, are not more important than she is. A young girl is not ready for sex, physically or mentally. She is not ready to be a mother when she cannot even take care of herself.
I'm glad you consider yourself an animal. You are right.
God Bless.

This is all very true.
I really enjoy my position in that I am a big believer in genetics and science, and that our genes select against certain traits that need to be "weeded out".
The thing that amuses me is that I am a lesbian. No helping hand for genetics here! Haha, my genes must be really messed up!
I think that evolution is the building block of everything, lesbian or no. I do have eyes!

Very interesting! I do not believe that animals make LOVE. They can (and usually do) have many 'mates' in their lifetime and they don't think twice about what this means to the one they have left behind :)
BUT...I have recently heard that when eagles mate, they mate for life and they would rather die than be without the one they have chosen to mate with so........perhaps eagles DO make love (???)
