I heard people telling others to get a "fighter's" license.
But are there separate kickboxing license, mma license, ect?
Also, where do I get them what is the qualification to obtain one?

Check with the state athletic commission of the state you live in. Most don't require a license until you actually step into the ring and fight and some of those states have got very stringent on it with the advent of MMA. I know Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana just beefed up their laws and it is now a $300 fine to the fighter, amateur or pro if he fights in those states and does not have a license and it is a $5,000 fine for the promoter if he lets you fight without a license and the cost of the license is $20. Most-but not all states require a copy of a physical exam to get a license so check with your state athletic commision. States are cracking down because some people have stepped into the ring in Tuff-man contests, MMA and kickboxing type matches and been hurt or killed. Some people have even put on cards and had little kids out there pummeling each other and sold tickets to adults who want to see blood and get their pound of flesh for the price of a ticket. Several years ago there was a mother killed in an amateur kickboxing match in Kansas City and with the advent of MMA the states are taking a harder look at things and getting tougher about all of it. States also see an opportunity to add to their coffers by getting a little harder about it since they are going to have to regulate it because it is not going to go away. Along with this there is a big push on to get kickboxing more soundly regulated like boxing and get it into the Olympics and Greece as the host nation was going to have Pankration as an exhibition sport.

Well the question is are you going pro or pursuing an amateur career? And also where are you living? Unfortunately states vary in requirements. Your coach or trainer should have insight into this regarding the rules in your state. But usually each state has a pro license that requires a physical and a fee that will allow you to fight professionally. If you are in Cali I can ask my buddy who fights pro MMA. If not find your states athletic commision online. And you should be able to find all the details.

You need a drivers license to get you back and forth to the dojo or tournaments, I have done 39 years of martial arts and I can't count how many times I have heard that, I don't know where it comes from but you don't have to worry about that.

This varies depending on where you are. Where are you living? You might find some good info at http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/USAStates.htm if you're in the US.
