God wrote the Bible, so everything in it is true! How do I know God wrote the Bible, The Bible says he did.
The logic in that argument escapes me!
Or perhaps a better question is "Is there ANYTHING outside of The Bible (or other religious book) that makes you believe in God, A Higher Being, Allah, Great Spirit, whatever you chose to call Him, it.

Please help!

Thank You!

So why is it called "The Word of the Lord" in Mass, not the "inspiration fo the Lord"?

Yeah, that's definitely circular reasoning and I understand your frustration. There really is no logic to it unless you know God exists. Only then can you make the attempt to find out just who He is and what His will is--whether it's revealed in the Bible, the Qu'ran, the Vedas or any other sacred books.
There is overwhelming evidence outside the Bible that supports the existence of God. Reason supports it (http://www.everystudent.com/journeys/nothing.html). Even science itself supports it (http://www.godandscience.org/).
Just look around you and inside you--this entire universe is the expression of Something.
There is also overwhelming evidence of the Bible's validity. See http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/authenticity.html for links to dozens of sites that logically and scientifically examine the Bible.

The Bible may have been God-inspired but the fact is it was written by many men. And mankind has a way of interpretting things according to his own design. There have been I don't know how many different versions of the Bible, the Koran ... whatever texts we cling to in order to be "right". And how many wars have ensued due to disagreements on any given interpretation.

I can only speak for myself, who adheres to no text written by man but I just feel that there is something much greater out there which defies any description or understanding. It's been a long hard haul to accept it but at this point in time and life I cannot dispute it. Can't rely on the Bible for the truth for reasons I've already explained. It comes from some other place. There are many univeral truths in all of the texts pertaining to all the religions and those of which are in agreement without argument are the ones I live by. The common denominators. A very simple message, which if we didn't throw politics and righteousness into the equation works quite nicely. Gotta let go of the power and greed though, which for the majority of mankind seems impossible to do. Does God actually exist? For me the concept works but not through any written word. Just life experience.

The Holy Spirit-God INSTRUCTED PEOPLE what to write in the Bible. God didn't send a Bible down to earth and be like "here, read this" The Bible was inspired by God. It's the word of God. But it was actually written by men. If a question about the Bible is raised and a person answers by saying "read the Bible" they mean to read the Whole story. To pick out a Bible verse here and there won't five you a clear picture. You need to read the whole story to get a clear picture. If you only saw a few minutes of a movie, could you say that you know everything that happened in the movie? No. You would need to see the whole movie to know what was going on and why things happened as they did. The Bible is the same way. To get a clear picture, to fully understand the story, the whole story needs to be read.

Nobody really 'reads' the bible. They pick and choose verses that they think apply to something in particular.

The bible is a very rough read. You need courses to understand it. Those would be courses from a college or a place of higher learning. Never from a church, the people who "teach" bible classes are usually uneducated [I am not trying to put them down]. They can only pass along verses as they were taught, which is probably questionable.

In order to understand a book, a painting, a poem or otherwise it is always important to have background on the subject That is what I mean by educated. You have to understand the culture and civilizations of the biblical stories in order to understand how they were written and why.

God did not write the bible. In religious terms, he supposedly spoke to Moses and he then wrote it down- so basically a man or group of men wrote it. There can never be any concrete evidence of who wrote the bible. It was to long ago. Also, there are so many verisions of it today that it's silly to follow it- that's how I feel. I think it's stupid to follow one specific religion just because some book says "follow in his path or ye shall be judged." I believe in some higher power(s). I can't put my faith into on thing and believe it to be true. Instead, I choose to keep an open mind to what is out there. And this God that is spoken so highly of, seems to "say"- by the mouth of his followers- that we love all and accept all yet at the same time they discriminate against gays. Think it through people

The Bible was truly inspired by God and delivered unto holymen, prophets, etc. The Bible has many answers and can tend to answer questions you have.
Anything outside of the Bible that makes me believe in God? Yes, there is. Life itself and the plain fact that things EXIST makes me believe in God. Also, I feel the Holy Spirit running through my body when I worship him, and this concept may be hard for you, but it's amazing. I guess you could say "experience" makes me believe in God. Those little coincidences and miracles---it's all God.

The reason I might say read the Bible, is simply you can tell by question who reads and who does not, by some of what they ask. Christians love answering questions but we perfer those that take time to actually read what is in the word of God.

The Bible is inspired word of God. You do not have to believe to read the Bible, but taking time to really look to see if you question is intelligent or not goes along way with us.

Citing the Bible for reasons that the Bible is true is like writing a research paper and using the paper you're writing as your source. It's a horribly illogical methodology.

I've never read or heard or experienced anything that would make believe in God. I think that God is either nonexistent or unknowable. Either way, there's no point in worship, prayer or other such appeals.

1. It's easy to criticize, point fingers, or find fault in something that you have never read and really don't understand. So, if you are going to criticize something, you really ought to at least give it a fair read first.

2. The Bible is the Testimony of men who believe in God. It is a valid historical document. What makes me believe in God is the logic of the Bible and the historical facts of the Bible.

Personally, I have given up on trying to find logic in the Bible, it just gets to confusing for me and I lose sight of my faith and then I feel horrible. I decided to just believe it. I do, and I know that when I go to heaven there will be God and there will be Jesus at his right hand. Maybe you should do the same. Are you strong in your faith, thats what they always ask me. If your reading those books like on the bible and logical explanations for the bible being here, thats fine but you have to have your own mind on those, you have to remember that those are SOMEONE ELSE's opinions, you don't have to change your way of thinking to that. Good luck, hope this helps!! ;)
