Charles I, King Charles the Martyr, aparently died an Anglican, although there are stories that he converted to the Roman Church during his final imprisonment before his execution. This cannot be proven.
James I was an Anglican and the "King James" who commissioned the "King James Bible" (actually called "The Authorized Version")
Charles II was also an Anglican
JAMES II WAS a Roman Catholic

james 1 had a catholic mother (mary queen of scots), but he himself was staunchly anglican. in fact james 1 was so anglican that he wrote a book himself about how important it was to burn witches (the demonologie) and commissioned a new translation of the bible (the king james version) which was intended to replace all the other translations of the bible which already existed.
james 1 was actually the head of the anglican church (the anglican church is very similar to the catholic church, except that the anglican church has the king of england at its head instead of the pope), so the authority of the king james bible comes from its being authorised by the king of england.
all protestants who use the king james bible (this is most of them) accept the authority of king james, and one way or another belong to his church (since he commissioned and authorised their bible).
charles i was also an anglican (it is very attractive to belong to a church which has made you its head) but he married a catholic wife, and was very sympathetic to catholic ideas. but he was very short, so the protestants under oliver cromwell started a civil war and murdered him. (protestants hate short people: even if they are god's representative on earth).
charles ii was also an anglican (same reason as his dad) and came back to reign in england when it had become obvious that protestants can't run a country. (in about another thirty years the americans will realise this). charles ii was a very good protestant: he was a heavy drinker and had lots of mistresses.
when charles ii died his younger brother james ii became king. james ii was a catholic so he was deposed by a revolution after slightly less than one year on the throne and replaced by his protestant daughter mary.

If you refer to the English Kings, they were not Catholic, although Charles II was supposedly baptised in that faith just before his death.
