If the prunes are the dry fruit kind, eat as much as 6, but if they are the kind that are in juice, only eat about 3 that will do it for ya, I don't know why the dry fruit is different, it just has never worked that well for anyone I know, maybe its the juice mixed in with the others that give it that extra boost, anyway, hope everything comes out well for you.

Bananas are the wrong things to be eating right now. So are apples. They are actually part of a recommended diet for diarrhea, so they would be making your problem worse not better. Apple Juice however, would help you get things moving. Kind of strange that the juice does the opposite as the actual fruit, but that is what the doctor says. All the bananas and apples have probably created another bulky monster. You might want to have a glass of prune juice (gross I know) as well as a few tablespoons of olive oil. The oil will lubricate your colon and anus and make passing the monster you've created somewhat easier.

Sunkist sells prunes in a plastic container and each individual prune is wrapped like a piece of bubble gum and they are so darned good, I thought about passing them out as Halloween candy. These come in about 25 or 30 to a container. I get addicted to them and keep eating them like some people eat popcorn and about poop my brains out. It usually takes a couple ....maybe 4 or 5 prunes to get me going and to think....I eat them because they are fresher than in the box and really taste good. They are sweet like candy.

I don't know, "how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll". To answer who knows: however, try Benifiber, or Metamucil. Both are NOT stimulates. Also eat yogurt, Activa is the best brand. Increase fiber in more than just prunes.. What works the best is cereal, such as Bran Flakes, or Cheerios..
