I just found out that my daughter has a yeast infection. She was taken to the dr. and she was given medication. I was just wondering if anybody out there had the same problem with their child and if they could give me any of their stories ie; how long it lasted if they thought it hurt their child? Anything would be appreciated.

How do you know that it is a yeast infection?

Presumably you already have tried self treatment or you would not be asking the Q I suggest that you see your doctor for confirmation and if necessary swabs.also it maybe necessary to exclude diabetes.

it would be useful to know your age/on pill/children etc and sexual history More likely to get fungus if pregnant/on pill/diabetic Is there any chance that you have a STD? but think/hope that it is a yeast infection and not any thing else Assuming that it is a fungus infection 1)no bath salts/oils/bubble bath/perfumed soap/vaginal deodorants etc They remove natural protection 2)cotton underwear 3)nystatin cream /pessaries-also cream under foreskin of partner 4)Diflucan-fluconazole by mouth would clear bowel of yeast as bowel can often be a source of reinfection-available over the counter UK

I think it's just a type of diaper rash, my son had it. This is the first time I hear about it being caused by bubble bath, but I have used bubble bath so that may have caused it.

It didn't hurt him, but it was getting uglier so I took him to the doctor and they gave me nystatine and it immediately went away. The doctor said it is usually caused by wet diapers left on too long, so be careful with sitters or make sure you use diaper cream at night time.

I had them as a child, and my 2 year old daughter has had 2 so far. I guess it's heriditary. Monistat cleared it up both times. She didn't like when I out the cream on, but it was gone within a few days.

My daughter gets them alot when she has taken antibiotics. Have her eat yogurt at least 2xs a week with the active cultures. Unfortunately once they start getting they seem to get them more often. No, they don't hurt them. Just continue the medication until the MD says stop and not when you think its gone.

mine had it from bubble baths the dr said to use a cup of baking soda in the bath water not more bubbles even soap and shampoo can irritate them to let her play before in the tub before you wash her. it lasted about a week or two. mostly she was just itchy

No personal experience, but I've heard feeding the child yogurt will help.
