It seems that all of these atheists around here love to complain about the world's problems and blame them on God, but how many of them have sincerely asked God to solve them?

Don't you realize, atheists, that if you simply ask Jesus into your hearts all would be well again?

But wouldn't all of the people that already believe in God and pray be able to influence him to make this a "better" place?
Ooooh the trick questions.

Atheists don't blame God, they blame the people who believe there is a god. Big difference!

Why in the heck would they pray if they don't believe in God? Atheists believe in making a difference by doing something concrete about it, not asking help from an entity who doesn't even have the decency to show Himself. In other words atheists are the types to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. If Christians truly wanted to make the world a better place then they wouldn't constantly be talking about how wonderful it will be when God destroys it!

Don't you realize how stupid you sound preaching to the atheists what they should or shouldn't believe in?

Atheists are people who deny the existence of a supreme being or beings. They do not blame God for their problems, they blame the world for their problems.

I'm an atheist, and once I turned to God for help. Know what your so-called 'God' did? 'It' allowed my best friend to be struck by a car in front of my eyes. If thats what I get for trying to allow 'God' and Jesus into my heart, then you can have your God.

'All will be well' my foot!

If you're going to complain about Atheists, at least make sure you know what an actual Atheist is before labeling a non-practicing Christian/Jew/whatever an Atheist.

Answering your question first: yes it is reasonable to go to bed w/o praying and expecting the world to be better. Why? If you did something to help it become better, why shouldn't you? It's not unreasonable and praying has nothing to do with it.
Now about your tangent rant on Atheists, What?! Why do you believe they blame God for the world's problems? They do not believe in a god! Therefore your points about asking God for solutions and Jesus are moot. Question for you: Why are you attempting to force your beliefs on them? What makes you any better? Think about it.

lol Yes the power of prayer.
Dear God, almighty, all-powerful, all-loving creator of the universe, we pray to you to cure every case of cancer on this planet tonight. We pray in faith, knowing you will bless us as you describe in Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We pray sincerely, knowing that when God answers this completely heartfelt, unselfish, non-materialistic prayer, it will glorify God and help millions of people in remarkable ways.
Will anything happen? No. Of course not.

If the Bible is literally true, then something is seriously amiss.

When my wife was 8, she asked jesus into her heart and help in dealing with an abusive parent. There was no reply.

She turned to the administrators of His faith to help with this situation. They chose not to get involved as it was a "strictly family concern."

At a time when she needed the Lord the most, he absence was striking.

It was at that point she realized God did not exist, those who promoted the faith were sadly deluded and the only person you could fully rely on was yourself.

Now, at ANY time, God could choose to reassert His presence to her. This has not happened.

besides, if atheists do not believe in God, how can world problems be blamed on something that isn't there?

I don't think atheists believe in God therefore cannot blame problems on him. Same thing with Jesus.

1) Atheists do not blame problems on God. They don't believe there is one.

2) There are billions of people who have asked Jesus into their heart.

There are also still enormous amounts of people starving to death.

So tell me, if one person, or a small group of atheists, asks Jesus into their heart, then what should the effect of a billion people be? Quite a lot.

And what has been the effect of a billion people?

Flip all.

How can you claim that faith makes things well?

Strange....I haven't heard any Atheists complaining about the world's problems and I have been in here for several months. And I know for certain they don't blame anything on God because they don't believe he exists. Where did you get this information or are you so indoctrinated in your beliefs, you just assumed these things?

That's silly to the point of being stupid. Atheists don't blame your fictional god for anything. How can we put blame on an imaginary character. The only thing I've ever seen atheists complain about here is the stupidity of you Jesus freaks.
