Romans 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Every day brother Edge,,, every day. Its an every day fight. Satan is working overtime on us Christians . Like a roaring Lion he is going about seeking whom he may devour. Jesus has given us the power to defeat Satan and sin through the Holy Spirit. Romans 8 explains it . It is like this.... the law of Sin and Death is like Gravity. the law of the Holy Spirit is like the law of Aerodynamics. The law of Sin and Death is still there but it can be overcome by a superior law , the law of the holy Spirit. Just like the law of Gravity is still there but can be overcome by the superior law of Aerodynamics. So we can conquer the law of Sin and Death by the law of the Holy Spirit . And if we stumble , we have the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all unrighteousness . Then we get up and continue the fight.

Because I still live in this body of flesh, I struggle every day with the temptation and the desire to sin, and some times I fall.
But because I know my salvation is assured, sealed by the Holy Spirit, I never struggle whether I have "sinned myself out" of salvation... there's no "blessed assurance" in that. My hope for salvation lies in the awesome power of the blood of the Lamb.
But I do know (and am duly convicted, sometimes rebuked, and sometimes chastised by my heavenly Father, that I might learn and mature in a way that is pleasing to Him, so that I, along with all my Christian brothers and sisters as the "church body" will some day arrive in heaven as a suitable and purified bride for Christ) that my sin is nonetheless displeasing to my Lord, and that I should seek every day to live for Him.
Think about how many of your sins are based on the pull of the world and your flesh to fulfill YOUR needs as opposed to the needs of others.. almost all?
If only I could truly die to the flesh and live for the Spirit that dwells in me all day every day... I know I will when I arrive at heaven's gate.
Thanks for the question and the scriptural references. They are a comfort to me at the moment. It's a long story.

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us" (1 John 1:8). I think this verse goes for every day of my life, that is, I don't ever dare to think I have had such a good day that I can say I have not sinned that day. Actually, according to scripture it is inappropriate for any of us to attempt to acquit ourselves of sin at any time or for any period of time during this life. The apostle Paul once said, "My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God" (1 Corinthians 4:4-5).

Every one who is a Christian struggles against sin because we live in bodies of flesh.
Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall by no means fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these things oppose each other, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
But a close reading of that passage from Romans 7 reveals that Paul is writing about his pre-conversion life before being set free from the dominion of sin by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known lust unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." 8 But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of lust. For apart from the law sin was dead. 9 For I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, but I died.
Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself with the mind serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what was impossible for the law to do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Yes and anyone who says they don't is a liar. Paul spoke about a thorn in his side. He wanted God to remove it but God wouldn't so he said he learned to worship and be content in whatever situation he was in. So, we should practice this. Even when sin creeps up (and it will) we need to draw nearer to God in order to find guidance and help to overcome and not succumb to the temptations. AND...if we do succumb to sin, we should know that God's grace is sufficient.

I am struggling right now with Godly submission to my husband. I tend to be a pretty strong person, and my husband not, so it is quite easy for our Godly roles to get mixed up, especially since I must work due to his disability, at least for now.
I know that God will help me in my struggle, and it is only in His strength that I can grow in character, and be more like Jesus. Ah, but to have that submission to my husband that Jesus had to our Father.
God bless.

I do not follow the writings of the Bible. So my answer is no. I also do not fear going to hell. That is a creation of the Bible also. I do believe in getting what you give and doing as little harm as I walk through life as possible. That includes all of the creations big and small.

Of course I have. ALL humans sin. There's not a one that doesn't. Because we aren't perfect.
