Will God of War 2 play on the 80GB PS3 without hooking up to the internet?

I am deployed and dont have access to game updates but I want to order God of War 2.

Yes, God of War 2 should be able to play on the 80GB PS3 without being connected to the Internet. The PS3 isn't required to be connected to the Internet to play games, but you do have to update the PS3.

You can either download the update by using your PS3 and going online, or using a computer and go to www.us.playstation.com and save the update to a USB drive or a SD memory card and then insert the USB drive/SD memory card into the PS3 and update it that way.

Also, the new update version 2.00 just came out yesterday.
