Unfortuneately...Yes. Most Christians have a church face. Do not let this discourage you, however, from serving God. It is not right to do wrong just because other people are. It is also not right to justify your actions of doing wrong by pointing the finger at someone who is doing the same thing. God said to do right, regardless if other people do. Personally though, I almost do not care what you do. I did not write the Bible when you die you will not answer to me.

Yes unfortunately you are right. People who only walk the walk on Sunday are hypocrites. So called Christians that think they can live like the rest of the world 6 days a week and then come into church and "do a little worship" on Sunday, say a few quick "forgive me Lords" with no intention of giving up their sin are only fooling themselves. They are not fooling God, and they rarely fool true Christians. Jesus said "ye shall know them by their fruit". If the fruit is rotten , so is the branch and it will be cut off and cast into the fire Warn them sister. We must warn all people who refuse to repent that they are not heaven bound.

I believe there are many Christians who are new babes in Christ and many who are ashamed to be Christlike in front of people because they are more concerned about what people say or think that they act differently outside of the church building because of the pressure. Also, many who claim to be Christians are counterfeits and the way they act outside the church building is the real person they are. They are the ones Jesus spoke about when he quoted from the prophet Isaiah; These people speak well of me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.

Mark Twain had a great example of this in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. People are Sunday christians; they go to church one day a week and think that makes up for everything they do the other six days of the week.
When I was a kid, my family couldn't get a ride to church, and not a single parishioner was willing to pick us up, even though some of them lived on our street.
(My mum is blind, can't drive, and had no way to get four little kids to church. Nobody would help...)

Look up the message to the Laodicean church in Revelations 3. This is the description of the lukewarm believer.
Hot enough to look zealous in church, cold enough to be comfortable with the world.
Not all are like this. I know many people who love talking and walking the ways of the Lord. But, sad to say, quite a few live this life. Who are they really fooling?

I'm Christian
i went to catholic school for 9 years and go to church every single Sunday
I go to public school now but i still go to church every Sunday
and even i will say that i am a completely different person while in church
in church i act innocent and good when in reality in just thinking about all of the bad things that i had accomplished that week, and theres always a mile long list of sinful deeds....
i am not proud of the fact that i tend to rebel against my parents, lie, and do things that the church does not approve of but i only seam to consider this while actually sitting in church.
church does make people act different and behave differently, mainly because we are just trying to cover up and hide from the other people the facts that we are NOT perfect and do bad things.....

No, I believe people go to church to reconcile with the lord.
It's a place to keep the sabbath day holy. A place where people can rest their souls from labor and praise the lord in spirit and in truth. The church is a place of truth and most come from a life of old ways and outward sin. The head of the church, our lord rebukes sin from his house. That's why you see them act totally different in church and once outside the church they return to their old sinful ways. When the lord lives in you, you see the light of others as it reflects in the prizm of life. I see believers that burn as bright as the radiance of the sun and unbelievers that burn like a grey moon on a cold night. So caution yourself not to judge others so you may not extinguish your lantern of life.

You know its true or you wouldn't ask.
That isn't to say they all do. Some people are nothing like their "church face" and some are always putting on that face.
The good Christians I've know are always the same, "constant" in their faith so to say. But...It can be hard.
Stirve to have the same face. What's that verse about a man who sees himselvein a mirror? Do you remember what you look like? Some people don't like what they see. Usually because they don't look deeply enough.

Sorry but there is no respect in this section. the surest way to have a bunch of Atheist show up, it to say Christians only please.
of course it works the opposite also, the surest way to to have a bunch of Christians show up is the say Atheist only please.
of course they both say, this is a public forum, and you cannot exclude anyone.
as a Christian I have seen the same thing that you have, part of the reason is, inside the church, there is a freedom, without condemnation, to worship God freely,
when as when we are in the world, many are so busy trying to blend in that that we forget to let Christ shine in our personal lifes.

A "church face" in the Bible is called "hypocrisy".
The word hypocrisy comes from the Greek word "hoopocrites" which describes a theatrical actor. Have you seen the logo of the Screen Actor's Guild with the happy and sad mask? That is the symbol of this Greek word. The wearer of a mask.
