As the father of young soldier who died for their freedom of speech, and as a Patriot Guard Rider who has stood between them and other grieving families of young fallen heroes like my son;
I believe that Rev. Phelps is saying exactly what Pat Roberts and thousand other Christian leaders would love to say if they thought that they could get away with it.
After all, wasn't it Pat Roberts that said the same thing about 911 until public outrage forced him to retract.
Think about it.
Remember Terry Shivo?
Personally, I believe that all religious fanatics should be treated the same regardless of religion!

I don't understand a church calling themselves Christians, they don't even know the Bible on which they are based. It says hate the sin but love the sinner. They are judging the sinner, instead of leaving him to Heaven.

Probably guilty but will beat it in the Supreme court as freedom of speech. Just like they will do the last one.

If we don't believe in freedom of speech for those we despise, then we don't believe in it for anyone. I hope they beat the rap..not because I like WBC (atheist myself) but because I love the constitution.

If it's anything more than a jaywalking ticket, DA should seek the death penalty.

I think we need to pray for those ppl, as well as pray for the homosexuals, adulterers, and sinners of all kind. God said to pray for those that arent for Him,to love them and to tell them of His love for them, and show them that He has a different plan for them, a way out of the situation they are in. To be in love, free of sin, and live an abundant live here and now as we live to repesnet Him.
We arent to tolerate sin. But we are to hate sin, yet love the sinner. This is a command of God. WE arent to treat others bad or name call, etc. Thats not ever of GOd. WE dont repay evil with evil back. NO > NO NO>
So how ppl can preach hate that say they love God, I dont know. But, we must just pray for them, forgive them, and alllow God to deal with them. The same as anyone else that is not truly following what God says is how we live on this earth.
The devil is pretty good at deception, whether its keep non believers out of Gods plan, or attacking ones that claim to belive and making them behave as the non believing world does. The answer is lvoe and forgivenss and to pray and ask that God give them a new heart to love and obey Him fully, as it is a requirement of God to go to heaven. Gift of salvation is free, but holding on to it has some conditions. Unless we are like Jesus, we wont be saved.
Would Jesus go around calling ppl names and expressing hate? NO. He would love them to His truths, but He wouldnt tiptoe either. He says what is sin and then says GO AND DO IT NO MORE. God commands obedience to His word, fully. IF we arent fully His we arent HIs at all. WE cant pick and choose what we want to believe and obey. Either we do it all, or we arent His.
WEaring a Christian label doesnt make one a Chrsitian, so dont judge us all by the actions of others. Just like if you hear of a horrible school teacher, does that make them all bad? NO. These pppl arent acting Christian, but lets just pray for them as God instructs. Remember we dont just obey when its easy to obey.
But< I do believe there is wisdom here amongst the lies.
God tells us to not hate sinners and tolerate sin NEVER. But, we are to love them and show them what to do as we live truths ourselves. And I do believe that when our nation deceided to say that homosexuality was ok and that abortion was ok, it meant we are in a downward spirital, as God will not bless a nation that abandons Him and HIs truths. We are to love all sinners, and hate the sin, but lets not embrace their sin as they do. How will they know Gods truths if we dont tell them?
Love is the answer. Obedience is the key to it all.
