Warm a teaspoon of olive/vegetable oil over the stove flame and pour/dribble into the ear.
PLEASE test the heat of the oil and spoon before you do this, make sure it is not hot.
Once the oil is in the ear, lie on your side for about five minutes so it can do it's thing. You can repeat this as often as needed. Worked a treat for me when I was a kid and I still use it when needed.
Good luck.

When I first read your listing for help with an earache, I was willing to give you a simple, old fasioned remedy that my mom Used on me and my sisters- and it is and old time tried-and-true remedy for a simple earache. By today's standards, you don't hear about it anymore that I know of, but when I was growing up and got frequent earaches during my elementary school days, it always worked. It is a teaspoon of cooking oil (not lard, or "Crisco" ), heated with a match or lighter under the spoon, then poured into the ear-you want it warm, but not too hot. Only a few seconds of passing the flame beneath it is neccessary. However, you mentioned a ringing in your ear and that you equilibrium is off. This may be a middle ear infection or even something in your inner ear. I know you spoke of not yet having medical insurance, but it could be more serious than a simple earache. I am only speaking from my own experience, and from having three children, weathering everything from simple earaches to a ruptured eardrum. I wonder, since you are only 15 days from being insured, is there any way that this could be retroactive? If you are waiting to be approved and are "cleared" but not yet official, it may be. I don't know your situation, so I'm just guessing. I hope I helped, or that you find help here or elsewhere soon.

Hi there. Hopefully you will feel better soon. Here is some info I found in a book I bought this summer for home remedies.: Excess ear wax that hardens usually in the outer ear canal causes this. Place a few drops of baby oil or mineral oil twice daily to soften the wax. Then use a bulb syringe to flush out the wax with warm water. Flushing the ear may cause dizziness do not insert an object in your ear even a cotton tip swap it could damage your ear drum.

You will need some help for this - Slightly warm some Olive Oil in a teaspoon with a match or lighter, run it into your ear and plug with a little cotton wool. Otherwise, check with your Pharmacy, Many make up remedies of their own for earache and wax removal, most bicarbonate of Soda (Baking Soda) based and generally pretty good. Good Luck

Get some eardrops at the drugstore. You may have impacted wax. Also you may have an inner ear infection, and you will have to go to a doctor. You can work out payments with them. The loss of equalibrium is a very serious problem.
You could take a very nasty fall and end up having to pay for much more serious matters.

Have someone blow cigar smoke in your ear lightly for about 4-5min. I think this works by constricting blood vessels. I'm not sure really. This is what my grandfather did for me as a child and it worked. Just a note... Aspirin overdose can cause ringing in the ears. If you have been taking Excedrin or aspirin you may want to switch to Tylenol or ibuprofen for a while.

My mother used to put a little heated cooking oil (not Hot, high side of warm) held in with a cotton ball in our ear to ease the pain. Lay with the ear ache ear up. Take some Midol ( don't laugh it works quite well) for the pain.
try this:http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/earache.html

Try tylenol and then try sleeping with a warm compress under or on the ear that hurts... like a wash cloth damp with hot water between a thin towel.
