Remember, everyone is deformed in some way. Just because it is covered doesn't mean it isn't there... I guess I would focus on where it was, where it is, and where it's going?

If you act very conscous of your appearance, people will notice it more. But if you speak with passion and sincere feeling for your subject matter, that will come through in your presentation, and they will notice your appearance less.
(There was this guy on a British talent show a few months back who sang an opera song. He had very crooked front teeth, but what I remember the most is how utterly beautiful his singing was.)
Don't ask people on this forum for ideas for your speech. As you've already seen, what you're mostly getting are displays of people's biases, and those won't help you, especially if you don't happen to agree with them.
What three things about religion interest you the most? You'll need to narrow your topic down--talking about just 'religion' is too broad. Is there some particular religion that you find interesting? Could you compare some common aspect of three different religions? Wars fought in the name of religion? Famous religious figures and why you admire or dislike them? Religious books of several different religions?
Something like that. I wish I could help you more, but this has to come from your heart for it to be a truly effective speech.
PS: I had a deformity, too. I was born with a cleft palate. It was surgically repaired, but it made my nose look flattened, and that couldn't be corrected until my face reached its adult size--so I had to wait until age 18 to get it done. If you go forth with confidence, you'll be okay.

If you are a Christian, you could do the three manifestation of God (Father, Son, Holy Ghost). Describing how they are three manifestations of the same God. If you just want to speak about religion in general, you could speak about the three religions that claim to follow the God of Abraham (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). You could inform them why they don't believe they worship the same God (Jews are still waiting for the Messiah, Christians believe Jesus is the Messiah and is Yahweh incarnate, Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet and Allah is the God of Abraham). If you are self conscious about your deformity I would go ahead and call attention to it at the beginning of your speech and get it over with, people don't tend to stare at something if they already know about it. ( for example, you might start out with..." Although this speech is about________, I would like to take this time to explain my _________ so that you will pay attention to what I say, and not how I look. Then explain what you have and people won't sit there wondering about it while you speak.)

I will tell you this. Whatever you are going to say practice in the mirror first. My father had to give a lot of speeches for his profession and he hated it. He told me that he would practice his speeches in front of a mirror - talking out loud. I always used this in school when I had to give oral presentations and it worked very well.
I know it's hard but don't worry about your physical characteristics. Just provide a well prepared presentation and nobody will care about your physical characteristics. Look at Stephen Hawking. The guy can't even move but he can fill a room with some of the brightest people in the world who just want to hear what he has to say.
So have something to say. And, to the extent that you can, tell it as a story. Don't just describe to your listeners, help them to see this story.
I know that's a lot to digest and I haven't even addressed the content. But public speaking is an art that can be mastered if you put your mind to it.
Best of luck.

You can discuss about :
1.God's intention created humans on this earth
2.What can we do in fulfiling God's intention
3.Life after death.
If you have enough time you can prepare the comparative study of 3 big religions e.g Jewish religion,Christianity and Islam .You must disclose the similarities and the differences
You can get rid your nervous if you regard all attendances are monkeys or they are imperfect persons like you..You can add in your speech some humours so they will listen to your speech..

Anything about ANY religion? That's a very broad field to chose from... hmmmm... let's see now....
How about comparing the 3 major religions of the world... Judaism, Christianity, and Islam... and how each one developed. That's a 40 page report right there, but you can pare it down and cover the "main points."
As for speaking tips, there's a great website for an organization that's sole purpose is to help people with public speaking, "Toastmasters." They have some great tips to help you!
Good luck, and hope all goes well... and remember, your audience is filled with your FRIENDS, not your enemies.
Have a blessed day.

First time I spoke was in front of 256, but I know the feeling. Talk about something that you feel comfortable with. Perhaps you can talk about God's love towards us, sending His son for us, and the gift of eternal life though His Son. You can sum up Christianity in that. Main thing to remember is to remain calm and take a breath before you speak. A little tip If you can't look at the crowd; look just above their heads. This way you don't have to look at their faces and it appears to them as if you are looking at them. Most importantly, pray. It adds a great deal of comfort. Good luck

1. How did we get here? (everyone wants to know that and
only the Holy Bible gives us the true answer)
2. Lives of non-believers ( not believing the truth makes them
question life and not reading the instructions from the
Creator, they "do what is right in their own eyes" and that
is where many troubles on this earth are formed.)
3. Lives of Believers: They are a happy people, raising
families and going to church and expanding their own
families by those in the church who love one another,
help those in the church and even those outside their
church in need, follow the Golden Rule, become good
citizens rarely in trouble with the law or police, work
hard, focus on what is good, have good morals, and
believe life begins at conception, and therefore against
abortion.

A. What is religion and it's difference with an evil cult.
B. What are the different types of religions available.
C. Are religions a necessity or are religions curses?
To feel better, just to act as if you are talking to an empty space (that is what I do when I need to do public speaking)
