I found it quite disturbing when I was in the USA knowing the US government doesn't offer any government assistance or housing to your ex service vets men, women, children also assisting your disabled and mentally challenged people. It's a fact many more Americans and even friends I've made on YA are going to be joining them on the streets in next few years as no one wants to go to the US as a tourist anymore, so this is going to create unemployment in the US tourist industry's and many countries are dropping US trade deals due to the deflating US dollar and US banks tightened lending on home loans to American people creating no investment.

I always wonder what happened. I mean, most people on the streets have some form of mental illness. Got to wonder what happened in their life that they ended up that way. I have had a hard life, and I don't pin things on that, and even though I'm an atheist, I still think the say, "Except for the grace of God, there goes me." I mean, I've had luck, I'm intelligent, that has helped me. What if I had it worse, or somebody that took care of me had died or anything. I try to have compassion for others. I mean, wouldn't it be nice that every time you did something wrong, the other person would understand you position 100%. That you snapped at them because you were sick or tired or had a bad day. I try to think of it like that. So when somebody is homeless, mad, ect. I just try to think that I can not understand that person 100% in this moment.

I always wonder what happened to them. I makes me very sad. I even read recently, that on an average day, 400,000 military veterans are homeless. It is so, so sad.

My heart goes out to the person. I just think that that could be me or anyone I know. I just think what could I do to help that person.

"There for the grace of God, go I." and...does God want me to give them money. There are circumstances that I feel 'yes,' and other times, I am not prompted to get involved. (Unfortunately, some people are not genuinely homeless, but are trying to con the public).

"That which you do until the least of you, you do unto ME."

I give to food pantries, donate money to shelters, help at Thanksgiving and Christmas, donate clothing...

I'm a good Jew. I do what I can. And I think some of what Jesus said was good and right and TRUE.

I always wonder how they ended up that way. Then I hope they had something to eat recently and a place to stay at night.
