You need to get a better babysitter NOW!!

Your child's physical and emotional health depends on it. Get your son away from the 'friend' (who is no friend). Check with the churches in your area, alot of them offer daycare or know how to get in touch with responsible daycare providers. See if any of your relatives will watch your son while you look for a better daycare provider.

Check and see if you have a Crisis nursery in your area. Explain what has happened and ask if they can help sit your kids while you look for a sitter. Check to see if you have a child resource and referral network. A child welfare agency can probably tell you how to find licensed home day cares. Talk with your boss and explain you need to take a couple days off to look. I personally would be calling child services on her regardless of whether she was a friend or not. It's irresponsible to leave a child that young unattended. If you don't want to make the call then have her seen by the doctor. Explain the situation and have them make the call. She needs to get a dose of reality that you can't risk a child's safety that way.

Find another sitter, and get your daughter checked for pink eye. Your "friend" isn't doing her job, and she's not looking after your kids if she's letting her sick son drag your 1 year old around on concrete!! I'd make sure that everyone in the neighborhood knows about this.... she doesn't need to be watching anyone elses kids. Sounds to me like she can't even take care of her own.

its not possible that all daycares are closed in your area unless you have 3 centers.. in the whole town.
-Call your local Social and Reh. and get a list of referrels in your area, then call them. U will need to take atleast a day off to do this, for interviews and what not.. of course you will pay more until you find one that is well priced. Unfortuanatly these are things that come w/ having children. You should be upset w/ your friend, I would no longer be her friend. Is she licensed or registered to care for children? Maybe next time you wont take chances w/ your child and leave them to just anyone. You need to be responsible and find a registered care provider whom you can report incase a issue arises. Everyone is broke, noone has $, but you find a way.. you wanted children!

OMG.

FIRE THAT GIRL NOW.

you are paying HER and she is not doing her job.

And to bring an ill child around your child is NOT okay. You're not paying her to make your child ill.

Call the local college and tell them you need a babysitter and ask if they can post a bulletin. There is always an ECE student needing a job.

Is there any way you can take a leave from work for a few days to watch your girls?

ALSO,
I know this is going to sound weird but don't tell the woman she's fired until you're done with her. Otherwise she may not treat your girls so well the last few days she works for you.

I would definately tell her what for! I WOULD NOT TOLERATE THAT! A 4 yr old should not be taking care of a 1 yr old FOR ANY REASON whatsoever!!!!! I also would NOT call her back for a babysitting session! Try to find someone else to take care of your children like a relative or maybe look into teen baby sitters or look on bullentin boards for babysitters..make sure to check them out though don't just call them and leave your kids with them. Make sure to get a few references to call and ask about them and see how they are with other kids.
But for your own childrens sake DO NOT let your buddy watch your kids again..next time it might not be something like that it could be 20xs worse!

YIKES!!!!!! First of all, this 'friend' is not qualified to look after children. You can't just let a one year old wander around by themselves! No one in your family can help out? How about daddy's family? Keep looking around for someone trustworthy. Maybe a different job with daycare access.
Please keep in mind, your kids are 1st priority. Money is just money, and jobs can come and go, but those little girls are the most precious treasures you will ever see. My prayers are with you.

Sounds like you are between a rock and a hard place. You don't have another option at all? First, your babysitter better become an ex-babysitter pronto. Second, I'd bet the farm she is not licensed, so call in the authorities to close her down.

I would be more than pissed for her to even let her son handle not only a child but a human being in such manner. FIRE her before your child is hurt and tell her how you feel. I would be raged. Just let all sophistication fly out of window.

ask a neighbor or some family member to babysit your daughter, to help you out while you find a more permanent, more responsible place to watch your daughter. I would not leave my daughter with your "friend". she's not watching your daughter responsibly. you don't want to get your daughter sick -- pink eye is contagious.
