Make sure they know they can always come to you to answer their questions or for any help, without judgment (if possible, or try not to show it) no matter how young or old they are.

The most important role of a parent is to raise their children with good moral values. Children must grow up to be more of an asset rather than liabilities of society.

I think the most important role of a parent is to be a parent. I don't think you can single out one thing over another. Love is important but so is providing food and shelter and so is being a good role model. it is all just as important as each other

To really listen to our kids, without judgment. And of course unconditional love, always. I have single handedly raised an 18 yr old son since I was 18 myself, and he is an incredible human being because I followed these 2 very simple parenting philosophies :)

The most important role of a parent is to be a good role model. The things you do today, your kids will imitate in later years. You teach them through example. If you're doing good things, so will they in life. If you do things that are not good, expect them to have problems. Good Luck and God Bless You...T

Actually I am a 16 year old daughter, but I think that I have a good aspect of your question. The most important thing is to trust your child, and nevr to be a control freak. If you dont give your child any room to explore or any freedom, they will never learn what it it really like to be self goverened or independent.

To be an example to your child. Children learn so much from watching the behavior of thier parents. Set a good example in all that you do and your child will follow.
